MY BIO IN BRIEF

I was born on the 12th of May 1956 in Kenya and got named Wilfred Otieno.
In 1962, I joined St. Consolata Nursery School in Nanyuki Town, then St. Consolata Primary School in class one in the same the same urban centre in 1964. Come 1965, I joined St. Teresa’s Kibuye Boys’ (now mixed) Primary School in Kisumu Town in class two.
After an interview in November 1967, I got admission at St. Mary’s Mosocho, a boys’ boarding intermediate school, in 1968 in class five. It is situated in the rural Kisii County and is an elite school in Kenya.
In 1970, I sat the Certificate for Primary Education (CPE), a national examination, at the e of lass seven. Having passed it, I was among those selected to join Form One at the prestigious Cardinal Otunga High School Mosocho that is also situated in Kisii rural. It is a boy’s boarding school that ran from Form One to Form Six by that time contrary to today due to the abolition of 'A'-level in Kenyan high schools.
At the end of Form Two, the founder and then Principal Brother Innocent de Kok, a Dutch missionary from Tilburg in Holland, advised me to join Arts class ( i.e. Humanities/Languages class) in Form Three contrary to my wish of having wanted to join the Pure Science class, if not, the Applied Sciences class. He told me that the teachers and himself had identified me as a talented artist, not a scientist. Having o alternative, I accepted their decision reluctantly.  However, it proved to be correct later on as I emerged the best student in English Literature in the final ‘O’-Level national examinations. My performance in this subject was much higher than that of my most favorite subject, Geography. This motivated me to start writing later on after I was through with my academic education and was an emloyee.
Otherwise, after the ‘O’-Level results, I joined ‘A’-Level where I studied Literature in English, Geography and Economics. After this I continued with my education at college level and graduated in International Trade from London’s Anthony Wade Institute (Wade World Trade) and in Christian Religious Education later on from the United States of America’s ISOM College.
As for my career, it began when I taught Geography and Christian Religious Education (C.R.E.) on a permanent basis-cum-English Language, Literature in English, Social Education & Ethics, Business Studies and Sports alternately in schools within the City of Kisumu. Afterwards, I worked for two Kisumu based sister companies as a Manager. These were Dalima Fishmeal Industries Ltd and later on Galaxy Hotels Ltd for two years in each case. All this time I used to play for the Kisumu basedYosa Bima Sports Club as a goalkeeper in its soccer team. Afterwards, I was appointed to be the football coach of the same team and later on, the secretary of the whole club.
In 1990, I began to write manuscripts. Come 1999, I joined Manchester City’s Writers Bureau (College) in order to sharpen my naturally gifted writing talent.
As for my hobbies, they include:- stamp collection, photography, Tours and travels. On the other hand, my interests include:- sports, church activities, gospel music, charity, job creation, international trade and multi–level marketing. As for now, I concentrate on professional writing.

THE END
