In ancient days as well as in modern times there has always been a need for a way to hang clothing.
The caveman as well as the Indian used trees and wood for hanging blankets and animal hides. In Biblical times also, there was a great need for a way to hang tapestries and rugs as well as clothing.
There's hardly an area in any business that hasn't made use of a rack of one type or another. Even in 1950's and 60's, it was not unusual to see the back seat of a traveling salesman's car filled with clothing and suits hanging on a garment rack. The movie and entertainment industry makes use of every kind of rack imaginable, and the same holds true for the fashion and retail industries.

Garment racks have become a necessity in modern business as well as in home construction. Almost every home that exists today has many types of racks built in, especially in the laundry room.
The thought of a dress shop or retail establishment without racks for hanging garments is just not imaginable. The ones that are available today are usually made of metal or plastic and come in a wide variety of styles and sizes. They are made to be sturdy, whether they are solid permanent fixtures or built to be folded up and put away or a rolling garment rack.

The hotel industry also makes use of a variety of garment racks. Every room normally contains a stationary garment rack. Many times .arriving and departing guests , make use of portable garment racks. Today's business establishments simply could not function properly without the use of racks for displaying products.

Every aspect of the entertainment and fashion industries has a need for racks. It's difficult to visualize the world without them. The thought of hanging dresses or evening gowns in a suit bag just doesn't occur to us. Just the need for a hanger so the item can be placed on a rack. Dry cleaning and manufacturing industries are a major user of automated assembly line racks. Whether the racks used in business today are large or small , they are truly an efficient, labor saving asset. All clothing manufacturers, regardless, of whether they produce name brand items or lower cost discount products must use racks in the display and production of their products.

The invention of garment racks should be given the same honor and esteem today as the manufacturing machines that are utilized to create them.
