Using Cash Advances Correctly

By | 3 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

If you ever need to use a cash advance, it's important to know when to use them since you'll be putting yourself into debt each time you obtain a cash advance. Use cash advances with caution because they can be a very expensive way of getting cash and that's not including the fee the ATM will charge you to take the cash out.

Here are some tips you can use about using cash advances correctly:

  • Great for Emergencies. If you are involved in some kind of emergency and you need cash, a cash advance can be a lifesaver.
  • Use when credit cards cannot be accepted. There are a number of places around that will not accept credit cards. Getting a cash advance will get you the cash you need to make your purchase or payment.
  • Useful when you're short on cash. If you're short on cash and you need to make a payment or purchase, a cash advance can be very helpful.
The important thing to remember with cash advances is that they are taken out of your credit balance and you will be charged in some way for taking a cash advance. The creditor will either charge a percentage of the amount withdrawn or some kind of transaction fee so use cash advances sparingly and remember to pay back the amount you withdraw to avoid negatively impacting your credit report.

The bad thing about cash advances is that they pay that off last out of your payments on a card, therefore collecting the higher interest they charge for them. It might be smarter to just borrow a little cash from a family member temporarily.
