Using Facebook for Marketing Your Site

By Edited Apr 16, 2014 0 0

Facebook is one of the largest social networking sites in the world and it is also far more than just a place to keep in touch with friends. Social networking is also an extremely powerful tool for getting free traffic to your website, though there are many paid options as well. Using Facebook for marketing is something that you cannot afford to miss out on if you want to get as much free traffic to your website as possible. There are literally hundreds of millions of accounts on Facebook and many people around the world log in every day. A bit of Facebook marketing does not have to cost a cent, and it can greatly boost the amount of free traffic to your sites.

Allow Readers to Bookmark Pages on Your Site

This doesn’t just apply to Facebook marketing; it applies to any social networking site, although Facebook happens to be one of the most popular. Every page of your blog or other website should allow visitors to share content which they like with their friends and followers on other social networking sites. You’ve no doubt noticed that, on numerous other websites, there is a set of buttons at the bottom of every page. These buttons usually include a set of logos for Facebook, MySpace, Digg and much more. If a reader likes a page on your site, they simply need to click the button linking to their favorite social networking site to share it with others.

Post Links on Your Own Facebook Page

There’s no reason not to do a bit of your own Facebook marketing on your own Facebook homepage. If you run a hobby blog or any other website which you want to make a little bit of advertising revenue from, then why not share new content on your site every time you upload it? Posting links on your page for all of your friends to see is an effective Facebook marketing strategy, since, with a little luck, your friends will, in turn, share the link with their friends. Eventually, your links will spread far and wide, especially if many people are going to be interested in your content.

Participate in Facebook Groups

Unfortunately, Facebook Groups are often abused relentlessly by spammers. Fortunately, however, Facebook marketing with groups is still effective and it’s not something that you should miss out on, especially considering how little work is involved.

Using Facebook for marketing involves creating things such as groups and fan pages for your site or online business and inviting potential customers, visitors and anyone else who’s interested to join. Additionally, you should also join existing Facebook groups. When joining existing groups, you should only go for those which are relevant to your niche. Once you’re a member, you can post links and updates to your content in the group wall.
