Using Goldenseal, Echinacea, and COQ10 To Tighten Loose Teeth and Reverse Gum Disease

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

You Can Make Loose Teeth Stronger

Approximately 75 to 90 percent of the American population over the age of 40 have some stage of gum disease.  There are many reasons why gums may be infected to the point of disease including pregnancy, heredity, smoking, drinking, malnutrition and poor dental hygiene.  Whatever the reason you are suffering from gum disease, there are some things you can do to slow or reverse the process of tooth loss depending on how far along your gum disease is.  You should consult with your dentist or dental hygenist before trying any of these methods to help make your teeth stronger.  Pregnant women should also consult their primary doctor.

NOTE: To help remove plaque around you can check with your dentist about using a sonic toothbrush.  Sonic technology is really being promoted as one of the best ways to keep plaque which is the leading cause of gum disease other than improper diet, from accumalating along the gumline.  Your dentist office might offer them for hundreds of dollars, but you can get a good sonic toothbrush for under $50. It's the difference between 300 brush strokes (with the human hand) and 22,000 to 30,000 brush strokes per minute with the sonic brush.  If you are having severe gum issues, talk to your dentist and try adding a sonic toothbrush to your daily regime.

Before We Go Further

Many, many people have also reported getting good results with most dental problems by using colloidal silver.  Silver used to be the preferred antibiotic used in the medical field before the invention of anti-biotics.  It is still used in many hospitals as an antibiotic.  Silver  is said to kill the bad bacteria without harming the good ones.  Using silver with a good sonic toothbrush may solve your dental problems.  Do your research online and look on Amazon to see what colloidal silver products work best. Talk to your dentist for futher advice.

Why Do I Have Gum Disease?

As stated above, there are a number of reasons why you have gum disease.  Considering that a majority of the population over the age of 40 has some stage of gum disease regardless to how well they take care of their teeth should give you an indicator that in some cases, it is more than just poor dental hygiene. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, "Clinical studies show that people with gum disease tend to have low levels of CoQ10 in their gums. A few studies with small numbers of people found that CoQ10 supplements led to faster healing and tissue repair, but the studies were not well designed. More research is needed" So the level of COQ10 may be a very big indicator as to why there is so many cases of gum disease in the over 40 population.

Pregnant and breast feeding women are also in danger of tooth decay and loose teeth.  Although doctors will tell you that pregnancy itself doesn't cause you to loose your teeth, what many don't tell you is that if you don't get enough vitamins and minerals especially calcium, to support yourself and your baby, then your body will take it from your bones.  This includes the bones in your teeth. You can read more about why women have dental problems when they are pregnant: Press Here.

Other reasons for dental disease and tooth loss include habits that you can change such as poor diet, smoking, drinking and eating too  many sweets as well as acidic foods. People who do not have enough vitamins and minerals in their diets are very prone to tooth decay because the tooth and gums need the correct nourishment in order to function properly. Calcium is a very important  nutrient for health teeth. You can get calcium from pure milk (unprocessed), cheese, yogurt (if you cannot get unprocessed milk because it is illegal in your state, then yogurt and raw cheese are great options for meeting your calcium requirement). Supplements are also good as long as they are natural supplements and not made of synthetic materials.  It is very important that you get enough calcium, especially pregnant and breast feeding women.

How Can I Make My Loose Teeth Stronger Naturally At Home?

The first thing you should do when you think you have gum disease is to see a dentist. Talk openly with your dentist about your options to try natural means to reverse your tooth and gum issues before opting for extractions or gum surgery.  Here are some suggestions:

CoQ10 Supplements

COQ10 Supplements

Take COQ10 Capsules to help stabilize the gum tissue.  As stated above, In studies, some studies show that supplementing with COQ1o helps gum tissues heal faster. COQ10 should be taken with a source of essential fatty acids for maximum effectiveness.  Those sources of essential fatty acids include Flax Oil, Omega 3 Oils, Fish Oils or Evening Primrose Oils. You can get CoQ10 supplements from Amazon.

Echinacea and Goldenseal Supplements

Echinacea & Goldenseal Root

Both Echinacea and Goldenseal have strong antibiotic properties.  Taking both will help to kill infections in the gums by strengthening the Immune System.  Depending on how bad the infection is, you may have to take larger doses for the first few days and then taking a regular dose after that. Check with your doctor before taking large dose of either herb.  It is not advised to take large doses of these herbs for too long because they are very strong.

To help with gum problems on the outside, you can also make a mouth pack.  You can open the capsules and empty at least 2 of them in gauze. Place the gauze in the mouth so that the Goldenseal and Echinacea are released slowly giving constant protection. You can use foil paper to help keep the gauze and herbs in place overnight. While you sleep, a good majority of germs are formed, which is one reason people have "morning breath." To keep these germs and bacteria in check overnight, you can use the gauze with foil paper to keep it in place on the infected area.

Check with your dentist and doctor about safety issues of leaving gauze in your mouth overnight.

OraMD Gum and Tooth Formula

OraMD Oral Hygiene for Gum Problems

OraMD is a tooth and gum formula made up of essential oils.  The idea behind this product is that the oil stays on your teeth and gums where it protects them from harmful plaque bacteria which destroys the tooth and infects the gums causing gum disease.  The prime ingredients in this natural tooth and gum formula are peppermint, spearmint and almond oils.  You can get OraMD Gum and Tooth Formula from Amazon.

Tip: Instead of chewing on gum, get square cotton swabs or sheets and tear off a piece.  Add some OraMD, tea tree oil or another essential oil that works for you. Place the oil-soaked cotton in your mouth and keep your teeth clenched down on the area where it is tender or bleeding.  After a while, you can start chewing on the cotton as you would chewing gum to make sure the oil gets all over the mouth, between teeth and under the tongue.  Your mouth will fill up with saliva initially, you can spit that saliva out and continue to use the cotton like chewing gum. As always, you should talk to your dentist about any home remedies to make sure they are appropriate for you.

How Long Will The Process Of Making My Teeth Stronger And Tightening Loose Teeth Take?

The amount of time it takes to reverse gum disease is hard to say.  It took a while to get to the state where it has become visible gum issues, it may take a while to reverse.  If you are having pain, you should see in improvement in the pain since it is caused by inflammation.  The Goldenseal and Echinacea capsules and gum pack should help diminish the inflammation and thus the pain. Always check with your doctor and dentist before using any herbal treatments to help your gum disease.  They will be able to advise you about your best options.
