Using Letters As Wall Decor

By Edited Oct 31, 2016 0 0

The use of wall letters is one of the easiest decorating and finishing touches you can find, and one that will definitely add a personal touch to any home. You can put sayings or quotations on the walls, your children's names, values, beliefs, anything you want. And there are lots of materials, styles, and designs to choose from.

Wall quotes decals are very popular and look as if they were hand painted. They are versatile, affordable, easy to apply, and do not cause any damage to the walls or the paint when removed. These can be purchased online and you have the option to choose from pre-made sayings or to have them customized.

ing. There are various styles that you can choose from – blocked and tiled letters, hanging, hand painted, unpainted, etc. They can provide anything from old-fashioned style to a more modern flair. Your kids will love having their names or something like, "Daddy's Little Princess" or "Little Cowboy" on their walls.

For something more sophisticated and vogue, you can use metal wall letters. These are classy, timeless, and durable. They come in different types of metals such as wrought iron, copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.

You can make your own letters too: trace them on scrapbooking papers and cut them out and stick them on the walls, forming a name or a quotation. Another fun option is alphabet "plushies", which are made from fabric with the help of a sewing machine. Cut fabric into small parts then fold in half. Trace the letters on each one, place batting between the fabric layers and, following the traces, sew the edges and cut the excess fabric. You now have alphabet plushies that you can display on the walls.

Alphabet fridge magnets can be used on the walls as well. Simply paint the walls with magnetic paint and voila! You can make this a "quote of the day" wall where each member of the family gets to display a different quote every day. Another fun idea is to use magnetic scrabble letters which will let everybody's inspiration loose (and allow for a game played on the wall).

There are so many ways to add letters to your walls, and they not only make great decorating pieces - they can help your kids learn to read and spell, serve as daily inspiration, and be a creative outlet for the whole family.
