Using Wheatgrass As A Home Remedy For Acne

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 0 | |
You've probably heard of super foods like spirulina, algae, flaxseeds and olive oil before - but have you heard about wheatgrass? It is said to contain an impressive number of health-giving nutrients including preventive agents against cancer. There is little scientific research that has been done on wheatgrass to substantiate its standing amongst the superfood pantheon but in the case of what interests us for this article - acne - the testimonials about its effectiveness to combat poor skin health are numerous and convincing.

First of all, let's make one thing clear : food may not be causing acne but to pretend that there is no substantial relationship between food and outbreaks of acne is simply ludicrous. Clearly those who are quick to say that it does not matter what one eats in the face of acne (pun intended) have never experienced it in the first place. It does not even matter what kind of acne you are dealing with : food has a direct influence on the performance on the body - including how it handles the skin. If you feed it poor food that creates imbalances and lacks in the organism, your skin is going to suffer. It's plain and simple.

Since the accumulation of toxins in the body is one of the main causes of acne, the elimination and flushing out of them because very important - especially if you have a skin that is acne-prone to begin with. Given this, one can improve his or her diet and feed the body with healthy and nourishing foods. Furthermore, one can help the body to detoxify itself by giving it foods that promote detoxification. Wheatgrass is one of those foods.

Wheatgrass is a home remedy for acne that will make an impact over the long run - that is, after a few weeks of eating it or drinking its juice. This herb's ability to detoxify the system is its main strong point when it comes to the skin. Many people have reported dramatic improvements following a run of a few weeks drinking this juice. What happens is that the system gradually detoxifies itself and alleviates its burden. No only are there less toxins that accumulate in the skin in the first place but the body consequently have more 'resources' to allocate to the health of the skin.

You can buy wheatgrass juice in health food stores and juice shops but this can quickly become expensive. One of the main attractions about home remedies is that they are usually inexpensive. Therefore, make your own! Growing wheat grass is easy. You simply get some seeds at a health food store and make them sprout before planting them in the soil for a week or so. What is less simple is to make juice out of them. It will require a juicer which can be expensive but if you are committed to this remedy then it will be a worthy investment in the long run. You can also just chew the grass for a few minutes to get the nutrients out of it but this is not an attractive option for everyone.

There are many home remedies for acne and wheatgrass is one of the most effective.
