Using green tea for health benefits

Chinese green tea comes from the carmellia sinensis plant. The Asian culture has been using green tea for health benefits for many centuries. Green tea helps eliminate free radicals in the body. The high amount of antioxidants help to fight off free radicals and prevent harmful diseases in the body. Drinking green tea helps boost and protect the immune system. Green tea is quite large in an antioxidant called catechin polyphenols, which gives green tea a lot of its health benefits.

Green tea has been quite useful for weight loss. Drinking green tea boosts your metabolism and increases the amount of energy in your body. Going on a green tea diet can help you burn an extra 70 calories a day. The catechins in green tea helps reduce body fat and increase blood circulation. Green tea also helps reduce the amount of carbohydrates used in your diet.

Green tea plays a part in anti-aging and promotes a youthful look. Because it eliminates free radicals, in can promote a beneficial look to your skin and overall improvement in your physical appearance. Green tea can help you live a longer life, since it protects the immune system and has anti-aging effects. People in the Asian culture who smoke more compared to Americans, still live a longer life because of the high amounts of quantities from drinking green tea. Of course it's recommended you don't smoke, to even multiple the health benefits of green tea. Drinking green tea isn't a miracle cure, just a herbal drink that boosts a healthy lifestyle.

Drinking green tea can also be used to protect colds and illnesses in the body. Green tea has antibacterial, anti-viral, and antibiotic properties. Viral infections in the body can be treated by drinking green tea. Most people who tend to drink green tea daily, tend to be less prone to respiratory disorders.

Drinking green tea can reduce your chances of cancer. Green tea's anti-aging and antioxidant effects can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Catechin polyphenols can prevent cancer tumors from growing, and can even be used as a herbal cancer treatment. Green tea is extremely beneficial in preventing lung cancer and preventing lung damage according to studies. The rates of lung cancer are reduced significantly for those who drink green tea on a daily basis. Even long-term smokers can reduce their chances of lung cancer by drinking green tea. Green tea can also contribute to lowering bad cholesterol levels, preventing diabetes, stroke, dementia, and promoting a healthy cardiovascular disease. Green tea is being claimed as the healthiest drink in the world according to holistic practitioners. It's recommended to drink 3-5 glasses of green tea a day to get the full health benefits of the antioxidants. If you drink a lot of caffeine, you should substitute caffeine drinks like soda and coffee with green tea. Green tea contains caffeine, but not nearly as much as coffee and soda. Drink green tea daily and benefit from a healthier lifestyle.

I drink green tea every other day or so :D
But sometimes I buy the bottled one, so I guess the health effects are reduced

Guess what I'm drinking right now? Coincidence, I think not! I've read that black tea and oolong have similar health benefits, depending on the way that the herbs are prepared.

I always knew there were benefits to drinking green tea but never took the time to read up on it. Just recently I started drinking it to change from coffee that I constantly drink. I always knew about the antioxidants but never knew about the other benefits. Thanks.

Great article godfather25, I was aware of some of these benefits but not all. I have Crystal Light Green Tea packets on my desk and try to drink these once or twice a day in a bottle of water at work. Have you heard anything that these are less potent than if you were to drink green tea the old fashion way - with a tea bag and hot water?
