Ontario is also home to the most powerful waterfalls in North America, the Niagara Falls. It has a horseshoe-shaped drop of 173 feet and is a source of hydroelectric Power as well. Niagara Falls is one of the oldest and best known tourist attractions in Canada hosting more than 25 million tourists annually. The Canadian side of the falls is much wider and larger than the American side and offers Underground walkways, Maid of the mist offering journey behind the falls and many more fun activities. Niagara River from Fort Erie to Fort George and includes many historical sites from the war of 1812. The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is another attraction close to the falls which is home to over 2000 colorful, free-flying tropical butterflies in a rainforest setting. There is a floral clock and besides it there are open grounds which are perfect for picnic.

Ontario also offers many conservation areas which have become immensely popular because more and more People want to get away from the hectic urban life. Conservation Ontario Provides detailed updated information about conservation areas in Ontario. Ontario Parks and Ontario conservation Authority lists all the Parks, conservation areas along with the facilities that each one of them offers. Among all the Ontario conservation areas, one that demands special mention is the Heart lake conservation Area in Brampton, Ontario. It is surrounded by dense forest which makes you feel like you are hours from the city, even though you are only minutes away. It offers swimming Pool, wild wetland themed splash pad, eight kilometers of Scenic nature trails, Boat and canoe renting, and Picnic spots.
