Vaginal Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery can be performed on nearly any part of the body imaginable including the private parts. When it comes to a woman's vagina there are three treatments for the different problems that some people might have with that area of the body. Since this can be a sensitive topic for many, doctors know to practice confidentiality when working with their patients.
The first problem that some women might have with their body is the shape and size of their labia. It is not uncommon for women to have slightly asymmetrical lips but in some cases one or both labia can be so enlarged that it causes discomfort. Labiaplasty is the procedure to reduce the size and sometimes alter the shape of the labia to something more desirable.
Vaginoplasty, in contrast to labiaplasty, treats the muscle and skin tissues of the vagina. It is often for women who have gone through multiple births and want the muscles in their vagina to return to their original tightness.
Then there is hymenoplasty surgery which is the surgical reattachment of the hymen. This is a tissue that is often associated with a woman and her virginity so the procedure is requested for cultural or religious reasons. The hymen is often torn during sex but can also be broken during sports or other non-sexual physical activities.
These are definitely not low cost plastic surgery procedures. The first step toward any cosmetic procedure is consultation with a certified plastic surgeon and it can be assured that the surgeon is expected to act in a manner that provides comfort to the patient. This means using discretion in proceeding with the procedure because it can be a sensitive topic for most women. With the increasing acceptance by mainstream society, vaginal plastic surgery is becoming more popular.
There are many benefits such as increase in confidence that plastic surgery can offer women. But due to the delicate nature of this procedure and the area to be treated, the cost of vaginal plastic surgery is slightly higher than most other procedures.
