Valentine Berries and Cream

LOVE is often a main ingredient in homemade sweet treats. Those dear to you are sure to be pleased when you prepare a luscious dessert just for them. It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day or even your anniversary, a strawberry topped chocolate heart can make any day special for your sweetheart. This chocolate filled heart is a beautiful, delicious dessert and best of all, has love written all over it.

Valentine Berries and Cream

8-squares (1-ounce each) semi-sweet chocolate
1-tablespoon shortening
2-packages (3-ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/4-cup butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2-cups confectioners' sugar
1/3-cup baking cocoa
2-tablespoons milk
1-teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/2-cups whipping cream, whipped and divided
1-1/2-cup fresh strawberries

Step 1...Line a heart shaped baking pan with foil, set aside.

Step 2...In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth.

Step 3...Pour into prepared heart shaped pan, tilting and swirling to coat bottom and 1-1/2 inch up
the sides, refrigerate for 1-minute, then swirl the chocolate again to reinforce the sides. Refrigerate for 30
minutes or until firm. Using the foil, lift from pan; remove foil and place chocolate heart on a serving plate.

Step 4...In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Combine confectioners' sugar
and cocoa; add to the creamed mixture with milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Gently fold two-thirds
of the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Spoon into the chocolate heart.

Step 5...Using a pastry or plastic bag; fill with the remaining whipped cream. Pipe around the edges of
heart. Garnish with fresh strawberries.

Makes 8 to 10 servings
