Vegetable And Fruit Carving

The art and story of Vegetable and Fruit Carving dates back to more than 700 years ago in Sukhothai, the Capital of the Thai people, in what is now called Central Thailand. There a story of a King who asked one of his servants; how she could make the festival Loi Kratong more beautiful. The servant suggested Vegetable Fruit Carvings to decorate the Table during festivities and since then this tradition has carried on. Even today Loi Kratong is celebrated in Thailand and Sukothai is the best place to experience it.

In fact vegetable and fruit carvings are mentioned even way back as 1808 - 1824 during the reign of King Rama in some of his poetry.
