Venice Vacations
For first-time tourists who want to experience the Venice vacation, some of the top tourist destinations and best sights to see are the St. Mark's Square, Grand Canal, Osteria Al Mascaron, and Paradiso Perduto.
St. Mark's Square or Piazza San Marco, as others call it, is always the first stop during a Venice vacation. The plaza has been the center of Venice that a lot of commercial and business establishments are built near it. The plaza is called such because it can be found in front of the St. Mark's Basilica. The Basilica is famous for its magnificent architecture and history which the Venetian government has successfully preserved through the years. A vacation in Venice wouldn't be complete without a tour in the Basilica. The Basilica showcases the unique and classic Byzantine structures and mosaics that illustrate stories from the Old and New Testament of the Bible.
Another highlight and top tourist destination one should not pass during a holiday in Venice is the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal holds the essence of a vacation in Venice as it is considered one of the main routes of the city. A trip to the Grand Canal would not be complete without riding on any of the water transports, especially the very popular and romantic gondola ride.
Going to a lot of museums, parks, and tourist attractions would be really tiresome and what better way to relieve oneself than to have a treat in some of Venice's restaurants. Italian food is always associated with pasta and seafood which is very much attested with the menu of the Venice's popular restaurants that serve authentic Italian food such as Osteria Al Mascaron, Agli Alboretti Restaurant, and Fiaschetteria Toscana Restaurant. Not all restaurants have high-priced menus, there are some that have dishes that even cost as low as 10 Euros. If one's Venice vacation is on a budget, there are also trattories, or small food shops or stalls that also offer authentic and delicious Italian cooking but a relatively lower and cheaper price.
After a long day of sight-seeing, picture-taking, and souvenir-shopping, what better way to end the day and cap a vacation in Venice than to spend it at Paradiso Perduto. Venice may not be known to have the funkiest and loudest bars and restaurants but the Paradiso Perduto is the closest thing to partying. The place puts together good food and good music which makes it a favourite hangout of local students after class.
