So, you've decided the beautiful Morocco villas are the perfect location for a vacation break. Great! With its perfect sandy beaches, World Heritage tourist sites and magical mountain villages, there's something in Morocco for everyone.
Choosing a Morocco villa rental means one of two things. Villas in Morocco can be a standard villa rental – created to meet westernised expectations, which are available in many places – particularly on the north Mediterranian coast, and around Casablanca and Tangier. Or you can choose a luxury, pure Morocco version of the vacation rental by deciding to rent either a room in - or an entire - Morocco villa, known as a riad - see my article all about Moroccan Riads here.
Where In Morocco?
First, you need to decide where in Morocco you wish to visit. Perhaps you'll choose the magical Marrakech? Or tour the northern cities of Tangier and Casablanca? Or maybe you'll decide you want to chill out on the beaches of Agadir or Essaouira? If you're after a walking holiday, you will probably find yourself considering the areas around Volubilis or the Atlas Mountains as your final destination.
Morocco villas are be both cheap and plentiful. The favourable exchange rate for western visitors makes Morocco an ideal destination for people who are looking for a family holiday or short break. It's not always necessary to book your Moroccan villa rental in advance – many of the best deals are found in Morocco, and there are very often some hidden gems to be found. (I personally only ever pre-book in Marrakech, where it can sometimes prove difficult to find a place to stay in the exact location I want to stay in).
The climate makes villas in Morocco a great option pretty much year-round. (December and January may be a little chilly at night, but days are usually sunny and warm). Moroccan beach resorts such as Agadir and Essaouira, are cooled by an Atlantic breeze, making them great places to spend the summer months.
The other benefit of choosing to stay in Morocco villas is the freedom and flexibility that they offer. Unlike hotels, you can choose your own agenda and come and go as you please. Villas in Morocco often offer maid and shopping services (for a small fee), so all you need to do is to relax and enjoy your villa rental and the company of your loved ones.
