What to Expect from the Vineyard Diet Detox
A Cleansing Plan Consisting of 3 Weight-Loss Programs
The Vineyard Diet Detox, also known as Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox, is a detoxifying diet that was created by Roni DeLuz. DeLuz is a licensed naturopathic and health practitioner at Martha's Vineyard Holistic Retreat, which is part of Martha's Vineyard Inn. As with most detox diets, this cleansing program is intended to remove the poisonous toxins that reside in our bodies. The goal is to reduce, rejuvenate, and rebuild ourselves, mainly with juices and soups. The Vineyard Diet Detox contains three weight-loss programs: the 21-day Diet Detox, the 7-day Tune Up, and 2-day Weekend Cleanse.
Roni DeLuz and James Hester wrote a book detailing the Vineyard Diet Detox called 21 Pounds in 21 Days: The Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox. The title is based on the main premise of this detoxification program, which is if you follow the 21-day Diet Detox; you can safely lose 21 pounds or more. The diet mainly consists of vegetable soups, nutritional supplements, and fresh veggie juices. You consume these meal options about every 2 hours, so you don't feel hungry throughout the day.
Benefits of the Vineyard Diet Detox
*Look and feel younger
*Produce fresh new cells at a rapid rate
*Feel more energetic within the first two days
*Acne will start to clear up
*Eyes will become brighter
*Bags or raccoon circles under your eyes will disappear within days
*Your hair will grow quicker, longer, and shinier
*Allergies will diminish
*Increased amounts of energy
*Better mental clarity, memory, and focus
*Fewer headaches and backaches
*Reduction in cellulite
*Stronger immune system
The longer you stay on the detox plan, the better chance you'll have in obtaining these benefits. You're more likely to experience some of these improvements if you do the 21-day detox instead of the 2-day detox. I'm pretty skeptical about some of these benefits of the Vineyard Detox Diet. I think it is more likely that you could experience a few of these benefits after completing the 21-day Diet Detox, but having all of your bodily problems go away seems a little far-fetched.
Analysis of the Vineyard Diet Detox
Detoxifying diets, such as the Vineyard Diet Detox, are great in theory and can be very effective at ridding your body of poisonous toxins. However, the challenge is making it through the entire program or cleanse without straying from the rules. I think the Vineyard Diet Detox program could be manageable for some, simply because you do get to eat some actual food, even if it is just vegetable soup. The detoxes where your entire diet consists of liquid meals are very hard to follow. This leads to people binging on food, which ruins any benefits you were getting from the program.
I'm not surprised that you can lose 21 pounds in 21 days on the Vineyard Diet Detox. If you think about it, that's three straight weeks of nothing but soups, supplements and vegetable juices. The fact that you could stay on that diet for three weeks would be very impressive. However, if you're strictly in this for the weight-loss benefits, you have to be careful once the detox is over. Introducing actual food back into your diet, without binge eating our choosing unhealthy foods, will be the real challenge. If you haven't eaten much solid food in almost a month, it most likely will be hard to remain disciplined once the detox program is over. Cleansing your body of harmful toxins and substances is obviously beneficial, but don't expect the Vineyard Diet Detox to be easy. You have to come to the realization that your favorite foods and drinks are no longer an option. However, if you stick with this program, you can see impressive results.
