There is something unmistakably girlie about vintage dresses and skirts. They are especially flattering and lovely and if you can find them now, you can be sure that they are one of a kind and chock full of character.

Vintage skirts and vintage clothing in general has recently made a huge comeback in the fashion industry (is it any wonder why!?). There are many places where you can buy vintage clothing, and even more shops that specialize in selling vintage style clothing (the clothes may not actually be vintage, but will be stylized as though they are from a vintage era).

Whether you are shopping to buy vintage clothing or looking to find clothes that are only vintage style, you can be sure that you will put together an attractive outfit that will make everyone quietly wonder where you shop. Vintage skirts have a way of making you look as though you've walked straight out of a daydream. When you are wearing vintage skirts, you feel as though you ought be to wandering out in a meadow somewhere, or looking for sea glass on a beach. Look for vintage skirts at thrift and secondhand stores.
Thrift stores are hands down my favorite way to buy vintage clothing. It's also the cheapest way to find vintage clothing for sale because no one else is doing the combing part for you. When you shop at specialty vintage shops, as much fun as it may be, someone has already done the hunting for you, and you can bet that if the piece of clothing was worth anything, that that person would have spotted that and so the price tag would reflect this much.

There are two places you should hit up at thrift stores if you are looking for vintage skirts. The first is obviously going to be the skirts section. You wont necessarily find a "vintage skirts" section, but you will see that there are clearly pieces that are of another era; if you happen to have a particular time period or brand that you are looking for, the search is on once you reach this aisle in a thrift store. The next place that you should comb through at a secondhand shop is the dresses section. Sometimes vintage skirts and skirts in general will get categorized under this heading. Either way, while you are there you are bound to run into a vintage dress or two that you can't live without!

When you shop vintage clothing online, the world is your playground, or your shopping mall, that is. Google vintage skirts and you will find a plethora of items that you'll have a hard time convincing yourself that you can live without. A good way to do this search is to hit "images" once you have entered your search term. This way you are going to get pages and pages of vintage skirts to look at; if you find one that you want, click on it and you'll be taken to the online company who is selling it. In Seattle, for instance, all you will need for the day is a parking place so that you can just walk from door to door to all of these fun vintage shops.

If you can't find specific vintage skirts that you can afford or that fit your body and personality, consider shopping vintage style clothing. When you shop outside of true vintage clothing, you are going to have an easier time finding both the clothes and the sizes that work for you. Also look in the naturalistic stores (health food stores, vitamin stores, etc) that typically host a bunch of vintage style clothing and skirts. These vintage style clothes can be a bit cheaper, since you are not paying for clothes that are practically an antique item!

If you are into vintage fashions and you have never played around on the Etsy website, you are missing out! They sell handmade crafts, arts, and vintage items via independent sellers. You can talk to the person who you are looking to shop from and they all have their own pages so that you can learn about the things they sell.
