Oahu, Hawaii is the most toured island of the Islands of Hawaii.  Besides its beauty, there are so many great activities to do on this island.  The best place to stay is on Waikiki Beach.  There are so many hotels located on the strip of the beach and there is also miles of shopping spots and restaurants, and you can walk to all of them. Best of all, you don’t have to walk or drive to the beach, its right outside your hotel.  Make sure you bring plenty of shorts.  Temperatures average in the 80’s.
One of the greatest activities to do on the island is a helicopter tour.  See beautiful Waikiki beach, rainforests and Diamond head at sunset from above.  Afraid of heights? Try a sunset dinner cruise.  Relax and enjoy a beautiful dinner while watching the sunset onto the sea.  After dinner, go to the top of the ship and enjoy the beautiful view.
Another great activity is visiting Pearl Harbor.  Pearl Harbor is a piece of our country’s history.  You can visit the USS Arizona Memorial and view all the names of the servicemen lost on that day.  Sometimes when you look down, you can still see the oil from the USS Arizona bubbling up.  Later, take a tour of the USS Missouri, the last battleship ever constructed by the United States.
Learn about all the nations of Polynesia at the Polynesian Culture Center.  Go on a canoe tour and explore the center yourself viewing all the different island nations and what each nation has to offer.  Later, watch each nation dance their cultural dance on canoes.  Stay for a traditional luau and evening show.
Visit the world’s largest maze at the Dole Pineapple Plantation.  Take a train ride around the plantation and learn all about the Dole Pineapples.  Later, stop inside for some tasty treats.
Another great activity is the Hawaiian Waterfall Hike.  Explore the Koolau Mountains above Kaneohe Bay.  Explore rainforests, plants and birds of Hawaii.  This is a 4 hour tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
If you enjoy hiking, visit Diamond Head, one of Oahu’s volcanic craters.  Climb all the way up the two sets of stairs ranging 1 mile long. From the top, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Island.

Visit Sea Life Park and swim with the dolphins. How amazing would it feel to be able to interact and touch these beautiful creatures?  Explore the park and see sea lions, penguins, sea turtles and much more.
Visit Aloha Stadium, where they hold the NFL pro bowl every year, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays for the Swap Meet.  It is one of the biggest swap meets in Hawaii.  Find some great souvenirs to bring home.
So, if you are planning a trip and aren’t sure where to go, add the Island of Oahu to your short list.  The weather is perfect and you will be mesmerized by all the great stuff the island has to offer.  There are so many great activities to try and you will never get bored shopping here.
