Vitamins For Stronger Nails

By | Aug 3, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Like many other parts of the human body, such as the hair, the nails have been known to indicate general health. In other words, they have been known to act as a mirror or general reflection of how everything else is doing. Now, we all know that going to a professional medical doctor is a correct way to find out how a person's health is at a particular moment. Anyways, the overall point here is that problems occurring with the nails may be a reflection of a person's overall health, but going to the doctor is the best way to get an accurate analysis of the exact condition.

So, what happens or what is to blame for poor fingernail health? Well, many speculate that nutrition has a decent amount of strength to do with it. People believe that certain vitamins play important roles in factors such as nail growth, strength, and look. Therefore, it would seem understandable that deficiencies in such vitamins might play a role in the downfall of fingernail health.

The next question that I want to answer pertains to some of the general problems associated with these situations. One that I have heard of is brittleness. This is when the fingernails lack strength and are not as strong as they should be. People have also stated that they may become dry from the same causes. I know that this one can be annoying because most people desire to have smooth, moist, and sleek looking fingernails. Yet another sign is the building up of ridges. These are sometimes visible on the surface and can be felt sometimes as well. This can also become a nuisance because everyone wants to have those sleek looking, shiny nails that we discussed earlier.

Now that we have covered a few of the basic signs, it is time to talk about vitamins for stronger nails. There are a lot of vitamins out there and it can be hard to learn about e very single one of them in order to decide which ones do what. Yet another confusing part of the vitamin deal is figuring out the correct dosages as well. I know that most bottles will present this information on the cover, but it is always a good idea to consult a doctor first anyways. Anyway, Vitamins A, B2, and C have been known to be connected to the nail health. Another supplement called Biotin is also associated with fingernail health. I am not totally sure which are vitamins for faster nail growth, so I will try to remember to ask my family practitioner about that information whenever I get the chance.
