The soundtrack for Warm Bodies features music composed by American film composer Marco Beltrami. Beltrami is an award-winning composer. He received an award for the category Best Original Score at the 2011 Satellite Awards for his work on the film Soul Surfer. He has also been nominated twice by the Academy Awards. Both nominations were in the category of Best Original Score. The first nomination came in 2007 for his work on the cowboy action-drama 3:10 to Yuma which starred Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson. The second nomination was in 2009 for his work on the Iraq war film The Hurt Locker by Kathryn Bigelow. He was nominated alongside Buck Sanders, his collaborator in the award-winning film's soundtrack.

Majority of Beltrami's scores were for films in the horror and action thriller genres. He scored several of well-known horror director Wes Craven's films. Beltrami made his film scoring debut in 1994 with the film Death Match.

Beltrami's notable works include scores for the films Scream, Mimic, The Faculty, Angel Eyes, Joy Ride, Resident Evil, Hellboy, Blade II, Underworld: Evolution, Flight of the Phoenix, Red Eye, Cursed, Live Free or Die Hard, Max Payne, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Trouble with the Curve, The Woman in Black and The Invisible. He will also be scoring the upcoming films Snow Piercer, The Wolverine, World War Z, Carrie, and A Good Day to Die Hard, the latest installment in the Die Hard movie series.

With a screenplay written by Jonathan Levine who is also the director, Warm Bodies is a zombie apocalypse movie running along the genres of comedy, romance, fantasy and horror. The film centers around the romance which develops between a young zombie and a teenaged human girl. This budding romance sets off a sequence of events that could change the entire world. Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer leads the cast of the film. Also in the cast are John Malkovich, Dave Franco, Ron Corddry, Analeigh Tipton, Justin Bradley, Cory Hardrict, Patrick Sabonqui and Tod Fennell.

The movie was based on a novel that carries the same title by author Isaac Marion. The adapted screenplay was written by Jonathan Levine. The book is very popular among young readers so there's a huge anticipation on whether the film adaptation can live up to the book. The book has a sweeping storyline but the movie only runs for about 97 minutes. That said, a lot of the scenes and side stories in the book will likely be cut out so it's interesting to see how they made the book into the film. Film adaptations don't always stick to the plot in the book. Sometimes, films create totally different endings compared to their book counterparts.

Warm Bodies will be released in the United States on February 1, 2013. We'll probably get the Warm Bodies movie soundtrack before the film hits theaters or after. In most cases, soundtracks are released first before the movie itself so the soundtrack will likely be available by the last week of January.
