Thomas Jefferson gave us many warnings in 1789 that warned the people if the judiciary is given too much power they could ruin our Republic and our American rights. One of his most famous quote, “The new Constitution has secured these individual rights in the Executive and Legislative departments: but not in the Judiciary. It should have established trials by the people themselves, that is to say, by jury.” Another famous quote by Thomas Jefferson, “God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”
Benjamin Franklin, another one of our famous founding fathers said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly, we shall all hang separate.” Franklin said this at this at the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This means that as the people and for the people, we must stick together and follow the laws our founding fathers initiated. When people go off and do their own things and implement other rules everything falls apart.
Here is a famous quote from John Adams: “There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.” It was almost as if John Adams predicted what would be happening in the future.
George Washington said, “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
These quotes are not only quotes to live by, but they almost seem as they are predictions and warning signs. There is no doubt that many politicians in today’s world are breaking the constitution and changing it a little at a time.
