We are living in a time where we are all a bit more aware of our beautiful environment, and want to put as little in the land-fills as possible. If there are alternatives to using something reusable, and washable, vs disposable, we should opt for reusable.

One way to do this is using washable nursing pads, they are comfortable, convenient, more economical than disposable pads, and can help save our planet.

There are several options of washable nursing pads to choose from, each with their own unique qualities and features.

Kushies Washable Nursing Pads

  • These are made up of 4 layers of 100% cotton flannel, allowing the skin to breathe, and reducing the risk of breast infection
  • Contoured, discreet fit


Phillips Avent Washable Nursing Pads

  • Extra soft and very absorbent
  • Convenient laundry bag included, keeping them easy to wash and dry without losing them
  • Provides even coverage
  • Retains its shape after washing
  • Not the best for larger breasted women
Bravado Washable Nursing Pads
  • Larger diameter and more contoured
  • Needs to be positioned correctly for adequate leak protection
  • Doesn't show much under clothing
  • Made with 'CoolMax' inner layer, with a double layer of terry cloth

Washable nursing pads are a great alternative to the disposable, or just to use at home, as they will tend to leak a bit more than than disposable nursing pads. Some women opt to using both for better leakage protection.
