So you are new into business ownership, and you want to know how to spend your advertising dollars wisely, right? It can be easy to spend lots of money on advertisements only to be let disappointed with the results from your campaign. It can cost a lot of money to advertise in specific ways, so which ways will best promote your business for the least amount of money?

A great way to advertise is locally. If you are in a small town, word of mouth will generally get the ball rolling. However, this is not always the case. So you can advertise on local radio stations. Offer a new customer discount to get people in. Ten percent off, buy one get one free, or give a special gift for first time visitors are all things that will draw people into your store. The local papers are also a great way to let people know you exist, and follow the same rules above and offer an incentive to them.

You can also buy promotional items. Many new business will buy a huge order of promotional pens and hand them out in bulk to friend, family, neighbor, and new customers. This way, every time they write a check or a grocery list they are reminded of your business. Magnets that are customized are also a great way to do the same thing.

Another thing that many shops do not think about doing is ordering custom plastic bags with their store name on them. Custom plastic bags can be a great way to have people walking down the street and unknowingly be advertising your store. You need a way to have the customers carry their goodies out of your store anyways, right?

Just because you want to have flocks of people racing to your new business does not mean you have to pay big bucks. The small things will bring a steady stream of clients to you, and good customer service will keep them coming back!
