When people start to get older, it is just about inevitable that they will start to develop fine lines and wrinkles on their skin. This is because as our bodies age, the skin isn’t as elastic as it once was and it has less elastin and collagen in the skin’s connective tissues. This causes the skin to sag and form lines and wrinkles.Credit: http://skinbrightenertip.blogspot.com/
Causes of Wrinkles and Fine Lines

For instance, if you get too much exposure to the sun, or undergo other harsh treatment of the skin such as being exposed to excessive dust, pollution, or other chemicals and products in our environment.
Smoking is also bad for the skin and can cause wrinkles, as well as facial expressions like frowning or squinting excessively. Even the process of losing weight can cause wrinkles to appear.

Make Anti Wrinkle Creams – Some people choose to make their own anti-wrinkle cream using one quarter cup of glycerin, one quarter teaspoon of spirits of camphor, 1.4 teaspoons of alum, 3 teaspoons of gelatin, one cup of anhydrous lanolin, one quarter teaspoon of tincture of benzoin, and two teaspoons of orange flower water.
Put the orange flower water into a bowl and add the alum. After the alum dissolves, add the gelatin and leave until it gets softened. Mix in the glycerin and cook in a double boiler on low until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Then, stir in the lanolin, tincture and camphor spirit. Stir until all blended together and stop heating the mixture. Use an electric mixer to beat the concoction until it is fluffy and cool. Then, put it inside a jar that is airtight and use some of the cream to fight wrinkles as desired.
Artificial Wrinkle Treatments
There are also methods that are not made from natural products. These include:
Vitamin A – Use a Vitamin A cream every day on the face or other area where wrinkles occur. This may cause side effects of redness or puffiness, but this usually subsides in time. Chemical Peels/Dermabrasions – You can also use a chemical peel if the wrinkles are not too large or deep. It is best to have a dermatologist apply a chemical peel therapy for best results. A dermatologist can also do a dermabrasion, which means they are rubbing off the first layer of skin, which can remove some fine lines and wrinkles.Credit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/5086082/Botox-could-be-used-to-treat-depression.html
Botox treatment. Boxtox injections are also a well used method of getting rid of wrinkles. A doctor will inject the Botox formula into the wrinkles and fill them in. It was approved by the FDA for treatment of wrinkles in 2002, but was used prior to that timeframe.
It is in the top five most common nonsurgical cosmetic procedures done to get rid of wrinkles. Botox is made with the same material as the botulism toxin and actually paralyzes the area of the skin where it is injected. It is not a permanent solution and must be repeated every few months to keep the wrinkles from returning.Credit: http://www.ladycarehealth.com/how-to-control-birth-and-the-effectiveness-of-each-method/
Other injected methods – Some methods use collagen from cows or human collagen and inject that into the wrinkles to smooth them out. Other injectables available include taking fat from the person’s own buttocks and injecting it into the wrinkles, or using Hyaluronic acid to fill in the wrinkles. Each of these lasts a few months and can cause mild side effects like redness, bruising, bumps and swelling to occur.
The bottom line is that most people don’t like to show the signs of aging on their bodies and they want to find legitimate ways to get rid of wrinkles. They can therefore choose from amongst these or other methods to get the relief from wrinkles and fine lines that they desire.
