We all know what it's like. That overwhelming scent that fogs up the room and leaves everyone gagging on the very air they breathe. Your throat becomes lined with the aftertaste of the scent, and your nose and eyes burn from the molecular assault. The physically-impossible thickness of the air makes it difficult to think straight. Your mind begins to fog up from the stench, and you can't think of anything else besides exiting the room and escaping to fresh air. It isn't as deadly, but it is just as feared: the person who wears way too much perfume or too much cologne. This person can appear in any office, classroom, restaurant or family, and when they do it is an all out battle between fresh air and synthetic molecules of incomparable strength.
None of us want to be that person, and yet some of us inevitably become everyone's greatest fear. These people seemingly douse themselves in their chosen fragrance, completely and blissfully unaware of the overpowering cloud of stench that they are unleashing upon the unsuspecting public, making the potent perfumes and colognes of the ancient Egyptians look like aftershaves for the mild. These people live out their lives unable to escape the curse that follows them (both literally and figuratively) everywhere they go. Unable to combat the devilry that plagues them, they carry out their existence shunned and hated by others.
Luckily, there are simple methods for avoiding this terrible plague. If you notice that people seem distant in their interactions with you—as in they literally keep a distance, there are certain proactive steps you should be making. First, don't be afraid to ask someone else for their opinion. In fact you might as well ask a handful of people for their opinions. It's better to know the truth then not know the truth while people insult you behind your back. If you do wear too much cologne or too much perfume, you will need to learn how to correctly apply perfume and cologne.
If treated quickly, you can ensure a healthy recovery from the unfortunate malady. The benefits will be enormous and spontaneous. People will be more willing to talk to you. People will even be more willing to get intimate with you. Relationships will not only flourish, but expand exponentially as you flaunt your proper perfume and cologne habits. Don't waste a scent; cherish and preserve it.
