Wedding Centerpieces That Are Special But Still Cheap

By | Feb 17, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

If money is no object then call in your florist, pay astronomical prices for high quality fresh flowers that are not in season, and then have them spend hours coming up with displays full of flair that show off their talents. Or if you are in the 99% of brides that are trying to stick to a budget for your wedding, don't!

Instead sit down and think, ponder over images on the internet, let your creative juices flow and come up with some ideas to make your own cheap wedding centerpieces that will radiate the theme for your day and your personality.

Floral arrangements are always going to be a popular choice for centrepieces. Roses surrounded by small, delicate white flowers in a vase decorated with a simple ribbon will be elegant but if you are going to be making these yourself, stay away from fresh flowers. You will not have the time or the inclination to be preparing these on the day or the day before your wedding. You will save money by doing it yourself but give yourself a break – you are supposed to enjoy the day too.

Opt instead for some centrepieces that you can assemble a few days before or even weeks before the big day. Buy some shallow glass bowls from your local discount shop as well as some colored or clear glass stones. Now either float large flower heads on water or tea lights and add a sprinkling of glitter to create a shimmering effect. See if any friends or family have any large headed flowers in their garden for you to use as this will keep your costs down even further and ask them to pop the flowers in the bowls before the ceremony.

Try using more of nature's rich offerings as these are beautiful as well as free. Gather some thin branches from trees and either spray paint them silver or gold and hang fairy lights around them or leave them natural and adorn them with small colored ribbons to mimic dainty flowers. You could even do this if the branches still have leaves on them and perhaps combine them with a few colourful flowers.

Accent romantic candles with flowers by surrounding jar candles with a ring of leaves or flowers. Make it more interesting by using assorted jars or other unique candle holders such as bird cages or decorative watering cans. Add some tulle to the design to soften the look depending on your candle holder.

You do not need a huge budget to create stunning wedding table centerpieces. You can use cheap or even free materials that when combined together creatively will transform your reception into the wonderland you deserve.
