Wedding Centerpieces for a Beach Wedding

By | Dec 15, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

There is no doubt that beach weddings are very fashionable at the moment and there are lots of different and exciting things that can be done with the wedding decor. Many brides find it quite trendy to celebrate their wedding by the ocean and the sun; at the end of the day, who doesn't like a wedding by the beach?

There are fantastic options when it comes to beach wedding centerpieces. There is a great variety of tropical flowers you can add to the centerpieces that can look absolutely amazing as well as exquisite: big blossoms exploding in color and form. Think of Anthuriums, Orchids and Amazon Lilies with their wild vibrant colors and shape. You don't really need many of these tropical flowers for each of your wedding centerpieces; usually 2 or 3 blossoms will be more than enough due to their size. They are also easy to combine with the more "traditional" flowers like tulips, roses and daffodils. Arrange with other elements like bamboo or palm tree leaves for a spectacular look.

The beauty of having a wedding by the beach is that you can play with different decor concepts and really personalize the overall style. The scenery will help you if you want to be adventurous and think of exotic decorations that will add great touches to the general wedding decor. If you are not into flowers there are other elements you can add to your centerpieces like sand, pebbles and shells. Add candles to the arrangements and folded big bold green leaves for a final touch.

A very simple centerpiece that is always a winner for any beach wedding is a wide thick glass vase with light sand inside, a few white pebbles on top and a white candle in the middle. This is a classic centerpiece due to its simplicity and overall effect. You can scatter a few petals around for a touch of color or sea shells; just make sure the colors match the rest of the wedding decorations. If you want to add shape, use a clear urn instead of the thick glass.

Another great idea is to place small square black trays with just the one blossom on the side (pink or red will look fantastic); a thick white candle in the middle and a few pebbles around. For the final touch arrange a long narrow green leaf across the middle. This wedding centerpiece is perfect for displaying on long rectangular tables.

Fruit is also an element many brides opt for when it comes to adding a different touch to the tables. Fill a rectangular vase with a thick base with sliced kiwis and place a vibrant bouquet of roses and hyacinths in the middle. This centerpiece will suit round tables.

Play around with color and design; draw a few sketches and see which centerpiece will suit your decor best. Remember that you don't always have to add flowers for your arrangements; other elements will do as well. As long as they match the general wedding decor and your personality shines through your chosen designs, your wedding centerpieces will be a complete success!
