When you are trying to lose weight, you should get as much research done as possible so you don’t fall into the trap of myths and opinions.


We’ve never had more sources of information than we do today. With the internet, you have a ton of places to go to for information though not all of them give you factual information.

Sometimes, it’s hard to tell the difference between the facts and the false information.

When you do ask any “expert” or research a question online about your weight loss, you should always ask “why?” and if possible find out if any studies have been done.

There are endless fitness programs that are backed with proof and scientific evidence that it may work.

There are thousands of diets out there that claim to be the best. Don’t fall for any of them. You should only eat what you are designed to eat. Nature provides us with all the sources of foods that we need: vegetables, fruits, and meats.

All of the synthetic flavors and ingredients on the market are a danger to our health. We humans have been around for thousands of years, how can we suddenly change our diets to sodas and candies without expecting anything bad to happen?


Stress can make your weight loss goals much more difficult to reach. 

When you exercise, you take away the stress and promote the release of endorphins which will give you a high where you will be left happy.

Exercise has many benefits towards the immune system. It strengthens it and reduces the risk of osteoporosis as a result of being overweight. 

Do consider compound movements. They are functional and they need muscle coordination, strength and balance. Examples of these are squats dead lifts and bench press. Barbells dumbbells, kettle bells and weighted balls can be used for these exercises. 

What about Free Weights?


If you live on this planet, Earth, then you will have to deal with the gravity and picking up objects that’s against it. When you are doing your chores, you may realize that it is almost an exercise if you do it repeatedly enough to raise your heart beat up to an above resting level. So if you go to the gym, and you use machines, it will benefit you but not as much as free weights would.

None of your chores at home are performed on machines so why not use free weights?

Start with the lightest weights and build your strength from there. Free weights do a better job of burning fat and building more muscles than machines. It requires your core and stability to balance the weights. 

Weight Loss Buddies:


Losing weight can be a lot of fun if you have a buddy to do it with. It’s even better when you both have the same goals. Being a team about the program will help you both to stay motivated and make the best out of your results.

You both can call each other and go to the gym and see what you both are eating. This way you can remind one another what to do or even somewhat watch each other’s progress.

It’s an amazing thing when two people are working towards the same goal. There are support groups for this especially online. If you prefer just to have an online support line you can!



No one likes change, especially the people around you. That’s not to say that they don’t love you, well actually maybe it is. They love you for who you are. So if you are overweight, they might not like the change of you losing weight.

You might even make them feel better about themselves. For example if you are bigger than them and you are a woman, then they would feel better about themselves if they are around you. 



One thing you have to understand about calories is that it can be a good thing to have lots of calories depending on what you eat.

For example, a bowl of popcorn covered in butter is worth around 500 calories and a bowl of salad with eggs and avocados etc is worth about the same. Which one do you think is healthier to have? The choice is obviously not popcorn.

Should you count calories after discovering this?

It depends. You should eat slowly and eat only until you are full. If you do eat too much, then your water intake should be higher and you should drink a few glasses before, during and after your meal.Water is an amazing tool for weight loss.


Water helps with the digestion of food and it also helps the body function normally. It is a powerful tool for weight loss. You should check your water intake, drink enough but don’t drink too much as it may cause an electrolyte imbalance.



Being sedentary isn’t really a good thing. We’re naturally lazy but we are also naturally active. If we are healthy and strong, being active wouldn’t be such a problem. If you are overweight, it can be more challenging to become less sedentary.

It doesn't matter how good your program is, it's up to you to put in the work and you will see the results.

You will not see changes overnight, but it is possible you might be months into your program and the people around you will ask if you lost weight. Or that you look better.


This should be a indication that you've made some great changes, but it shouldn't be the only thing that keeps you going. The health and benefits should be exciting to look forward to. You should depend on yourself. Your body is a machine and you should take advantage.

So no matter what, keep going and keep learning new thing that you can use for your weight loss program. It's a lifelong process even after you lose the weight that you are trying to lose.
