Wen is a line of hair care products developed by celebrity stylist Chaz Dean to promote healthy hair with gentle, natural ingredients. Dean's product line is revolutionary in the hair care world and is used by an impressive array of celebrities. Wen's Cleansing Conditioner (the first step in the Wen experience) is called revolutionary because it replaces 5 common products: shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, and leave-in conditioner. Also, Wen doesn't lather like typical shampoos. This is largely because it does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, a lathering ingredient commonly used in engine degreasers and car wash soaps that is often found in shampoo. The ingredient is considered damaging to hair. Wen uses natural ingredients like oils and extracts that, when mixed with water, produce a smooth foam instead of a lather.
Key ingredients in Wen Cleansing Conditioner
Wen is packed with natural ingredients, botanicals and oils to cleanse and condition hair. Glycerin is a great humectant (a substance that absorbs and retains moisture) making it a fantastic natural moisturizer. Sweet almond oil conditions hair and scalp and acts as another moisturizer. Cherry Bark helps with manageability of hair and is designed to bring out color, both natural and dyed. Panthenol restores hair's resilience while reducing split ends and making hair look fuller and thicker. Rosemary Extract conditions and strengthens hair and acts as an astringent. Chamomile Extract has calming properties and adds sheen to hair.
How to use Wen (from the official Wen website)
Wash hands of dirt and oils.
Dispense product into hands and rub together.
Starting at the scalp and working down, massage Wen in, occasionally splashing with water so the product distributes evenly. Vigorously work product into strands by pressing down onto the shafts.
Comb with a wide-toothed shower comb.
Leave in for a minimum of 3-5 minutes. The longer the product stays in, the better the results.
