Westone Um2

By | Dec 9, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0
This is a quick review of the westone um 2 in ear earphones, at the time of writing, it costs about 299 at MSRP. It is rather easy to get a earphone at a lower cost under christmas discounts or cash backs and money back refunds. This guide is more for the person who is in a rush to quickly assess multiple choices of earphones and needs a quick recap and review of the earphones in a short article, before deciding whether to purchase a earphone. With that, the writing contents will be catered more towards the usual person on the street, but not so normal such that he would be willing to fork out almost 300 dollars.

Best Parts:
This pair of monitors will probably be one of the better experience you'll get aurally out of your ipod on the go. Westone products are used by numerous professional musicians beyond count. It will sound fantastic from the lowest bass to the richest treble, it is almost close to the quality you can expect from the giant head phones, although of course it would not be of the same range. It should deliver a powerful sound encompassing highs and lows exactly the way they were meant to be heard. All this is thanks to the set of dual drivers. It is on par with the other brands in this bracket, such as the SHures, but delivers it at a lower cost. (about 10 - 20% lower if you check the online web shops)

Worst Parts:
Of course, even while cheaper, a 299 price tag is still rather steep, and would not be for everyone. It is best if you can go down and audition a set for yourself and decide whether the additional driver is worth your 200 dollars. Besides that, there is nothing that is bad about this pair, except maybe its noise reduction earbuds are still capped at 25 decibels, in case you were intending to use it near a construction work site.

Conclusion:
It is without question, a high quality awesome sounding high end earphone that is deserving of the enormous price tag. In the ideal world, it is probably beyond dispute that one would have an item that would have performance meets portability meets price. Here in this case, wonderful performance has met portability into a small set of in-ear monitors, but with a high price tag. It ultimately boils down to whether you feel the music quality deserves the 200 dollar premium over the westone um1 for an extra driver in the westone um2.
