With all the fame, money and line-jumping skills celebrities have, you’d expect their first dates to be like something out of a Danielle Steel novel. You know, chugging Cristal, comparing bank accounts and dropping $330,000 at a truffle auction. Stuff like that.

But the truth is, celebrity first dates are surprisingly human. They go on blind dates, scrimp on fast food and even make their first impressions at church. No private islands, no diamond necklaces, no posh accommodation. Here's what 12 famous couples did on their first dates:

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner

Bennifer’s first date was classic All-American: Red Sox and hotdogs. Well actually, it was only one hotdog. In true celeb fashion, they cuddled up and split the calories. The only first-date snag was on the way to the game, when Ben got pulled over for making an illegal u-turn.

Gavin had a huge crush on Gwen, so he threw a party in New Orleans just so he could invite her. He told Glamour magazine that they drank hurricanes, walked around the French Quarter and had their first kiss. The only rock n’ roll aspect of the date was when they had to step over puddles of pee!

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

Get this: Brad and Jen were set up on a blind date by their agents! No word on where their first date was, but their “how we met” story was too cute not to include.

Barack and Michelle Obama

Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift

US Magazine reported that Jake and Taylor’s first date was at Fishkill Farms in New York state, where they picked apples and toured the fall foliage. Jake was a true gentleman and picked up the $3 tab.
