By Edited Nov 21, 2016 0 0

Las Vegas Sign

Las Vegas is a city that is mainly known for as the gambling capital of the world, but that does not mean that gambling is the only thing that you can do there. The city and even the casinos have made improvements for decades now to bring more people in even if it is those who would rather not play with their paychecks. As someone who does not gamble you will find yourself surprised at all the things that you can enjoy in Las Vegas. Here are some of your top choices that involve no gambling at all.

Food

Las Vegas Restaurants

Las Vegas brings people in from all over the world, so they need to make sure that they have every type of cuisine available. You can have anything from fresh crawfish, to great Indian food and exotic rare food. There are a lot of restaurants in the casinos and off them from celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Tom Colicchio, Joël Robuchon, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, Gordon Ramsay and others. You do not even need to go to a celebrity chef’s restaurant to find great food. Even some of the buffets which end up being a great bargain can give you food to remember.

Shows

Showgirls

One of the main attractions in Las Vegas is the shows that you can watch. You can witness some of the most daring stunts and graceful shows in one of the many Cirque du Soleil themed shows. There are shows like these in several casinos on the street and off the street. You can also catch some of the most famous singers, magicians and performers in the world. Celine Deon, David Copperfield, Penn and Teller, Criss Angel and others have shows in Vegas while many others make stops to perform in the city. If you want to watch a show on the same day then you can get discounted tickets at the tix4tonight booths at several spots in the city.

Club Scene

Nightclub

The club scene in Las Vegas is as good if not better than what you would find in any other city in the world. Several casinos have night clubs which are popular with tourists and locals alike, and they are the type of clubs that you have to go to if you love nightlife. There is always a chance that you will run into a celebrity but even if you do not you are certain to have a great time. Some of the best night spots in the city include Rain and the Ghostbar at the Palms, XS at the Encore, Tryst at the Wynn, Tao at the Venetian, and Haze at the Aria. While those rank high in the list, other nightclubs do not rank so far behind, so if you cannot get into any on the top of the list, then head to another one and you will still have a great night.

Sights On The Strip

View of Paris from the Bellagio

You do not have to pay money to enjoy a good show in Las Vegas. There are free shows that range from street performers to some of the most complex shows put on by the casinos. Seeing the fountains at the Bellagio at night is a show not that you should not miss. Watching the water dance to music is breathtaking. Make sure that you also stand outside of the Mirage at night to see the volcano erupt, and why not take in some opera from the gondola rides at the Venetian. If you head downtown at night you can also witness the famous Fremont Street Experience; a light show to music while also getting a chance to see live music under the roof. The casinos themselves are attractions that you will love. A pyramid, the Eiffel Tower, the new York Skyline and great Roman structures can all be seen in one city.

Great Sights Outside The City

Red Rock Canyon

Besides the sites inside the city you can also be impressed by the sights just outside of the city. The Hoover Dam is just a few minutes outside of the city to the South East. In this area you will also be able to enjoy Lake Mead which ranks 16th in artificial lakes in the world. It is possible to drive to the Grand Canyon or join a tour if you do not want to do the driving, but since you are in Vegas it is time to travel in style. You can take a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon and get a better view from the air. If you do not want to go as far as the Grand Canyon you can drive west of the city to the Red Rock Canyon which is under an hour away.

Shopping

Shopping at the Venetian

Those who love to shop will love Las Vegas. There are great stores from the most famous designers in almost every major casino on the strip. You can just walk around and enjoy indoor shopping which in the summer days it is a big blessing with the hot temperatures outside. If you do not want to spend that much money you can also find great bargains on the strip and off it. The souvenirs are very affordable if you buy them away from the airport and not on the big Casino stores. You will see signs for cheap shopping especially when you head towards Fremont Street. If you go south of the city you will find Town Square which is where the locals shop.

Thrill Rides

It is also possible to enjoy thrill rides in Las Vegas with the most famous one being at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. The Big Shot you get shot up 160 feet from the top of the already tallest building in the city. The view that you will get from the top is breathtaking, that is if you manage to keep your eyes open. Other roller coasters available in the city are the Canyon Blaster at the Circus-Circus, The Roller Coaster at NY-NY, Desperado at Buffalo Bill’s, Insanity at the Stratosphere Tower and X-Scream also at the Stratosphere Tower. It is also possible to bungee jump, drive some of the coolest sports cars at Exotics Racing, and even try indoor sky diving.
