What Type of Cheap Plantation Shutters Are Available?

No plantation shutters are actually cheap, in comparison to many other types of blinds and shutters, however if you do want to install plantation shutters in your home but perhaps do not have the budget available for buying designer wood shutters, there are other cheaper options available that look just as good as wood shutters.

For example, many people have installed cheap faux wood blinds that actually, at least from a distance and a casual glance, look just as good as real wood shutters. They are made to resembled wood grains, and usually have a composite wood interior that is coated with a vinyl outer covering. They are much cheaper than real wood shutters. You can buy them usually at the same shops that sell real wood shutters, and they can be bought to fit most standard sized windows. If you want custom made faux wood shutters, these are also available and many of the shutters already on sale can be cut down to a specific size without much extra cost involved, though you will still pay for the original sized shutters. They are suitable for installing on any window in your home. Unlike wood shutters, they are not damaged by excess moisture or humidity and thus are usually very long lasting.

Another alternative is to buy vinyl plantation shutters. These are often white, and they can look absolutely stunning when lining the windows of a large living room. The smaller sized shutters are perfect for bedrooms or even kitchens and bathrooms. Naturally, vinyl is very hard wearing as it is not damaged at all by humidity. They are also very easy to clean and maintain. As with regular shutters they can be trimmed to size if your window is not standard sized.

Many people install vinyl shutters in their home as they like the look. It is clean and fresh and can instantly brighten any room. They have the added advantage of being able to match any type of furniture and you do not have to worry about changing your shutters or curtains each time you upgrade your inside furnishings as they will match n o matter what your new furniture looks like. It is their adaptability and the fresh appeal they give to a room that makes them a very popular choice when it comes to cheap plantation shutters.

Of course there are also many other cheaper alternatives for window treatments, if plantation shutters-even those made from vinyl-are still too expensive. You can hang fabric curtains, roller blinds or even just install glass window film on windows. However, if you are able to afford the cheaper type of shutters you will find that they are a great addition to any room.
