Is a One Cup Coffee Maker Right for You?

As its name suggests, single cup coffee makers brew coffee one cup at a time. It has the ability to brew a cup of coffee in a few minutes - there are even some one cup coffee makers that produce coffee in under a minute. This is why it is convenient for people who live alone or are constantly traveling. But does a single cup coffee maker really provide coffee lovers a perfect and rich cup of coffee? What are its other features that make it different from traditional drip style coffee makers?

One of the advantages of one cup coffee makers is that, as mentioned, it can make one cup with every brew. Because of this, you will not have to worry about it going to waste. If you use a drip style brewer, you probably know that you will have to brew at least 2 to 4 cups. If you live alone or are the only one who drinks it at home, you will not be able to drink the amount that you have brewed. Because it brews fast, you will no longer have to wait for a lot of minutes before you are able to enjoy drinking your cup of joe - and this makes it ideal for people who are on the go.

There are three types of single cup coffee makers - K Cup, Coffee Pod and Tassimo brewers. These use pods which only differ in name. Keurig brewers and other models that use the Keurig brewing system use K Cups, Tassimo brewes use T Discs and other one cup coffee brewers use coffee pods. These are very convenient to use as you simply have to insert the pod in the machine, push the button and wait for it to brew your preferred beverage in a few minutes.

Using coffee pods means you will have a lot of coffee, tea and hot chocolate blend options. There are a lot of manufacturers that make K Cups, T Discs and pods which is why you will definitely have a blend to drink no matter what mood you are in.

It is important to keep in mind that the price of single cup coffee makers vary depending on its brand name and features. The more advanced the features, the more expensive it will be. The most popular single serve coffee brewers today include Keurig, Bosch Tassimo, Bialetti and Philips Senseo.
