What can we learn from Winnie The Pooh?

Have you ever had a special toy that you wish would just come to life, and be your friend. Growing up in today's society children are very seldom left alone, because of Ipods, Ipads, and xbox 360s. While technically a child is alone when they spend hours on end glued to one screen or another their mind is fully occupied and not allowed to explore the limits of it's imagination. However, that is exactly what needs to happen for you to have such flights of fantasy about GIJOE's or silly old bears. That is exactly what happened to create the iconic Winnie the pooh. Winnie the pooh is inspired by A.A. Milne's 1920's Pooh books which were based off of his son Christopher Robin's stuffed bear.

Today's cartoons are becoming more and more geared toward older audiences such as southpark, family guy, and king of the hill. Winnie the Pooh is definitely targeted directly for the hearts and minds for those kids special enough to believe that when they go to sleep all of their toys play, and have fun without them. However, parents should take time to sit down and watch a few episodes for themselves. Winnie the Pooh champions friends, and compassion. Pooh is a character we have all felt like once awhile in our lives, if only on our best days, he isn't particularly concerned with what others think about him and he enjoys a good nap and jar of honey from time to time. Wouldn't it be nice if every once in awhile we where able to laugh at our mistakes instead of fretting over them. Being honest and ok with our less than perfect figure. While, we wouldn't give up we could still be simply ok with who we are, and still work toward our goal. Even though Pooh might not be the first thing you think about when you think Walt Disney he still remains to this day Disney's most profitable character with over 7 billion in global retail sales. Not bad for just a silly old bear.
