What to Take on Your Caravanning Holiday
Going on a caravanning holiday can be fun and exciting. But with so much to think about you can often forget to bring something. This is even more so if it is the first time that you are going caravanning. In this article, I will give you advice about what to take caravanning with you.
* Safety and security is paramount. Always take a fire extinguisher on board the caravan, a first aid kit, padlocks and a wheel lock for your car.
* If you have an automatic car that will be towing the caravan, you will need a new oil cooler. Otherwise you run risk of developing problems with your gearbox.
* Don't underestimate how easy it is to lose the plug in the caravan sink and how much of an inconvenience this will be. Attach a small chain to it to avoid misplacing it.
* Make sure your towbar can handle the caravan that you have. Not all towbars are the same and you want one that is high quality and durable.
* Take a long with you some sort of cooking stove. There are a range of outdoor electric grills that you can buy. Another option, especially if you are in an area without electricity, is to buy one of the many quality propane gas grills that are available.
* Blocks of wood or bricks are important to choke the wheels of your caravan when it is parked of a slope or uneven ground.
* Entertainment. Your holiday with a caravan will be filled with time with not much to do. For yourself and your kids, you will need things to keep you entertain such as a portable TV, radio, books or handle held games.
* Toilet paper. Yes, toilet paper. This is one of those important things in life that if you don't have any, you will be in deep trouble.
* While a caravan can be very warm during the day, they can also be very cold in the evening. This is due to their lack of insulation. Therefore, you should bring along an electric fan and a heater to regulate the temperature to a more comfortable level.
* Mobile phone recharger. This is one thing that many people forget to bring. There is nothing worse than not having a phone fully charged when you need to make an emergency phone call.
* A map. Always have a map on you of both the surrounding area and the caravan park itself. That way you'll never get lost, which can be especially easy when you are in an area that you are unfamiliar with.
