What to see on tours to China

If you or your friends are planning on going on tours to China, then you will want to know what to see on tours to China. No visit to China would be complete without visiting the following places on your trip:

Great Wall of China

Thousands of people go to visit the Great Wall of China every day because it is considered to be one of the country’s most iconic and well-known sites for tours to China to visit.  This treasure of the country of China is much more than just a gigantic wall across the northern part of the country. It has been in place for centuries and has many stories to tell about it. Plus, if you so desire, there are various hotels nearby that you can stay at and be within driving distance. 

The Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is another thing not to miss on tours to China. In 1987, it was named a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. It is a very famous museum in China with its red walls for all to see. It was once home to Ming and Qing emperors for almost 500 years and now it is open for visitors to see the glorious gardens, halls, and pavilions.

It was built by Yongle, the third Ming emperor, in between 1406 to 1420. It was the place of rule until 1911 and the last emperor there was Puyi. It became open to the public in 1925 and has 70 halls, palaces and nearly 10,000 rooms. You can get a guided tour, then check out the gift shop and snack areas.

Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Army is what was found buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang to protect him in the afterlife. It is something not to miss on tours to China and was also dedicated as a UNESCO World Cultural site in 1987 and is located in Xi’An, which is southwest of teh city of Beijing.

It is hundreds of clay figures of warriors and horses intricately carved as if they were in real life that was discovered in 1974. Huang is famous for laying the foundation for the Great Wall of China and he died in 210 BC.

Once you take this tour, you can buy books or even a replica of one of the terracotta army figures.

Shanghai

Another place you don’t want to miss is the city of Shanghai. It is one of the most developed cities in China and a very active place to visit on tours to China.  It has plenty of sightseeing opportunities, restaurants, night clubs and much Chinese culture for tourists to experience.

 

All in all, there are many interesting places to visit and things to see on tours to China, so if you are interested in visiting this majestic country, then you should talk to a travel agency to help you to plan your visit before you head off with friends or family to go there.
