What's In Store For Multi-player, Puzzle and Action Games In 2013?
With platform, arcade, action and zombie games of all shapes and sizes peppering the 2012 Nintendo calendar, you’d be forgiven for wondering what the company had planned for this year. However, a series of recent conferences have shown there’s something for everyone heading to a store near you soon. Here are just a few of the categories where you’ll see new Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL games arrive in 2013.
After the success of Nintendo Land, people will no doubt be waiting to see what other multiplayer games Nintendo has up its sleeve. At one of the recent Nintendo Direct events, it was announced that there was a Wii U Party game on the way that would cement the console as “the system that brings everyone together."
Fans of puzzle games will probably be eagerly awaiting something to satiate their appetite for brain teasers and while there are certainly a few on the way, the most anticipated of them will have to be the sixth in the franchise of Professor Layton games. There’s no word on a UK release for this yet, but as it arrives in Japan on February 28th under the name Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies, it is thought we’ll have it by the end of the year.
There’s no shortage of action games arriving hot on the heels of first person shooters like Aliens: Colonial Marines this year. As if two new Legend of Zelda titles (one being a remake of the GameCube classic Wind Waker) weren’t enough, Nintendo has also announced a work in progress with the temporary title of X that is said to be a mix of the Xenoblade and Monster Hunter series’.
So has Nintendo got you covered? Or is there something that you’ve been waiting for that wasn’t covered at ant of the Nintendo Direct events?
