Which are better, Black or White Chia Seeds?

The chia seeds have revolutionized people's views on health and nutrition. Researchers had to reach the 1990's before they discovered that there is such a thing as a chia plant long forgotten for decades that produces seeds with exceptional and extraordinary nutritional benefits far more abundant than any plant ever discovered in history.

There are two colors available for these seeds. You can choose between the black and white chia seeds.

The chia plant grows two differently colored flowers. Chia plants that grow purple flowers have brown seeds. These brown seeds are we know now as the black chia seeds. On the other hand, the plant that produces white flowers has seeds that are a mixture of white, grayish, and yellowish seeds. These then are called the white chia seeds.

If we talk of protein, a black seed has about 4.3% of protein, while the white seed has 5.17% of protein. With regards to their fiber content, a black seed is comprised of 6.52% protein and 5.52% for the white seed. As you can see, there is no significant difference between the two which makes one superior over the other. Some consumers mix the two types together for optimal nutrition. The seeds have no distinct and irritating smell or taste. For people who are not so much of an adventurer when it comes to rare food but seriously considers losing weight, this is a perfect alternative. Whether ground or whole, you may consume the seeds as part of your daily slimming diet. Mixing it with juices and some recipes allows you to still maintain a regular diet without starving yourself as its composition gives it the ability to absorb more water for the body and reduce cravings.

What's more, the chia does not contain any cholesterol that is harmful to the body especially to the elderly. It is also gluten free thereby making recipes with the seeds completely safe to the small intestines for people who have medically challenging circumstances.
