What's better than having a refreshing glass of wine at the end of a long day? A glass of white wine sangria!! After all of the fruit has been soaking in the wine and spirits it is pure perfection. I actually grabbed a fork to eat my "drunken fruit" after I was done!
Before I give you my recipe for this sangria, don't forget that you don't really need a "recipe" to create your own amazing sangria! Sangria is essentially wine mixed with your favorite fruits! All you have to do is select your favorite bottle and complimentary fruit and let it sit in the refrigerator to soak it all up! Experiment and create your very own recipe!
The most important thing to remember when you are making sangria is that you want to select a wine that you would normally love. Don't buy a cheap bottle that you would normally wouldn't. That isn't to say that there aren't some fantastic inexpensive bottles out there, because there most certainly are! Just make sure that you use one you like!
White Wine Sangria
- 1 bottle of your favorite white wine
- 3oz Parrot Bay Coconut Rum
- 2oz Triple Sec
- 1 20oz can pineapple chunks with the juice
- 1 11z can mandarin oranges with the juice
- 1 Granny Smith Apple, cored and sliced
- 5-6 large Strawberries, stems removed and cut into large chunks
- 1 cup green seedless grapes, cut in half
- 1 cup orange juice, no pulp
Pour the wine, rum, triple sec and orange juice into a large pitcher and stir. Carefully ladel in the canned fruit with their juices so you don't splash yourself ;) Add the remaining fruit and stir to combine.
This is just about the easiest thing in the world to make. The hardest thing about this recipe is not immdiately drinking it! Find some willpower and stick that pitcher in the refrigerator for a minimum of 8 hours or up to 24 hours before indulging. This should stay delicious in your fridge for about 2-3 days before your fruit will stop looking as pretty. I would advise making it the night before you plan to serve it.
Be prepared to fall in love with this refreshing tropical drink!
