Whitehead on Lips and in Mouth - How to Remove

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Are you suffering from whitehead acne on your lips and/or in your mouth, and wondering how to remove them at home, fast as possible? These are like blackheads and they are a type of acne called comedones. The difference between them is that whiteheads are closed follicles that are filled with the same material as blackheads, but have only a microscopic opening to the skin surface. The material is not oxidized, so it remains white. Both acne’s show up on your skin for the same reason, and both can be treated similarly as well. If they are on your lip area, it can be even more annoying, especially if you use lipstick or lip balm. They also can look like a cold sore.

Thankfully there are a couple of things you can do for cheap to get rid of them and also prevent them in the future.

How Get Rid of Whitehead Acne Now

Here are some steps you need to take:

#1 - Use a Facial Cleanser or Skin Peel

Clean your skin thoroughly with a facial cleanser designed to attack the problem - just be careful you don't get it in your mouth when washing the lips.

These cleansers are different than normal ones because have microbeads. Check good whitehead facial cleansers for yourself on Amazon.

*Facial Peel - Best Option?

You might also want to consider a gel peel for maximum results. This one below is ideal for whiteheads, blackheads and most other forms of acne. You can place it on your whitehead on your lip as well.

Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel - Enhanced with Tea Tree Oil & Green Tea Extract (Professional Chemical Peel)

A professionally formulated skin peel, specifically designed to treat all forms of acne, eliminate blackheads, whiteheads, and help clarify active acne.

#2 - Warm With Washcloth

Warm the skin next by pressing a hot or warm washcloth on the area for about 2 minutes.

#3 - Extract the Whitehead

What is the proper way to pop a blackhead or whitehead?  Use a dermatologist recommended comedone extractor.

Gently press down, then gently roll the tool over the whitehead. Be sure to disinfect the area when finished and clean your tool off with alcohol or hot water.

NOTE: Be more careful when using this on a whitehead on your lips - you shouldn't have to press as hard.

Here is a good whitehead extractor below:

SC-1103-SSP Suvorna Whitehead / Acne Remover & Comedone Extractor
Amazon Price: $14.95 $11.95 Buy Now
(price as of Sep 10, 2013)

Note: It’s possible your whitehead isn’t big enough to pop yet. In that case you should leave it alone and continue to wash your face several times a day with the cleanser. When it’s ready to come out, it should.

WARNING: Remember to never use your hands to pop whiteheads, ESPECIALLY if it's on your lip! This can definitely lead to facial scarring and possibly an infection. Your hands are dirty and shouldn’t touch the area, so it could also lead to more acne.

The extractor listed above should solve the problem, and it should clear up with no scarring at all.

Possibly Home Remedies for Whiteheads

Here are some possibly solutions to your whitehead acne problem:

- Facial steaming is a  popular home treatments for Whiteheads and Blackheads. Steam your face for about 10 minutes to open clogged hair follicles. (Courtesy of SpeedyRemedies.com).

- I've read that lime juice can also be used in combination with groundnut oil to heal Whiteheads naturally. Try taking one tablespoon each of both the ingredients and apply the mixture on the affected areas on a regular basis to get rid of this problem.

- I’ve also heard that toothepaste is a somewhat effective remover. Try letting the toothpaste site on your face for about 20-25 minutes, then wash your face afterwards. Try doing this for a couple of weeks to see if they go away.

- Rubbing the face with lemon skin a couple of times a week also may work to cure it.

I’ve never tried these home remedies so be careful if you try them!
