The great state of Colorado
After moving here last year, I truly feel like this is the best state to live in for various reasons I will go into. The state of Colorado has so much to offer, enjoys 4 seasons of weather, and has a wonderful diverse population of people that live here. There are big cities for people to enjoy living in or taking a weekend trip to, plenty of quaint small towns to visit for shopping, and is probably one of the best states in the United States for outdoor activities. Let's explore some of the things this fine state offers to its residents.
Colorado's abundant outdoor activities
There's no possible way I can list all the things you can do and places you can go to experience the Colorado outdoors, but just about everywhere you go there are things to do. There's a ton of mountains to climb, lots of trails for hiking and cycling, rivers and lakes for water activities, and tons of off-roading and 4 wheeling places. If you love to do things outside then Colorado is definitely for you! I personally love to hike and I have an article on how to prepare to embark on a hike here at http://www.infobarrel.com/Preparing_for_a_hike. If you like to fish or take part in other relaxing outdoor activities there are plenty of places for you as well! There are a lot of log cabins away from society to give you that mountain retreat feeling and can really been good for having fun or taking a break from the work life. All in all, Colorado ranks at the top for outdoor enthusiasts.
The people and quality of life
Something that struck me about Colorado from the moment I moved here is how happy people are and how well people are living around here. I read in an article by the huffington post that Colorado ranks #2 out of all 50 states for the happiest people. It is pretty easy to see why though since the weather is very mild all year round and there's so many outdoor and indoor activities for people to do. Towns and cities aren't overly crowded and the people who come to live in Colorado are more looking for a place to enjoy living instead of say....following a job that moved to another state. The quality of life here is also great. People can find things to do all over the place, the cities and towns have good programs in place for their residents, and the beauty is abundant. If you are looking for a state to call home with people that are happy and content with life, give Colorado a chance!
Climate and weather
Colorado is a wonderful place to experience all 4 seasons of the year. Certain places in the United states are always cold, while others are always hot. Some states never have rain or snow, while others are always drenched. Colorado offers a fantastic balance of everything you could ever desire. There's abundant sunshine, warm but not tremendously hot summers, snow but nothing like northern states like Minnesota, and fairly mild beautiful springs and falls. You never have to worry about missing out on something here as the climate is mild and offers whatever you could desire. The winters can get cold but never blistering cold like other states, the summers can get hot but it won't boil you, and all the weather in between is mild and outdoor friendly. Sunshine is our number one thing as we have close to 300+ days a year with sunshine, so that would definitely be attractive to a lot of folks!
There are a lot of things that people can engage in at the Colorado big cities, and a lot of back country resorts and escapes for those looking to retreat and get away from it all. Employment is very good here in Colorado, and many people have work. Those looking to uproot and come to Colorado will find abundant opportunities in Denver or Colorado Springs, and if you are more of a farmer / rancher type there are countless towns and areas in Colorado that offer farming opportunities with that country Iowa feel. People in Colorado are very fit and eat much healthier than other states according to articles published by Forbes and Huffington Post, so if you are a health nut and an exercise fanatic Colorado would love to have you! Come take a vacation to Colorado and see all that it has to offer and see if it's the right fit for you.
