Why Doesn't the Law of Attraction Work?

Several years ago, a movie called, The Secret came out and popularized a law called the law of attraction. This has gotten millions of people to start visualizing and seeing all of the things that they want to magically come into their life. There have been a lot of accounts of amazing things happening from people all around the world. At the same time though, there have also been a lot of people who tried using this law without anything really changing in their life. Let's look at some of the reasons why this law doesn't work.

The first reason is that many people mistakenly believe that all you have to do is ask for what you want through intention and visualization. Although this sounds good on the surface, if this is all that you're doing, not much is going to change in your life. Think about the countless number of people who don't have food to eat. All they think about is food. If thinking about something is all that is needed, no one would be starving. There is more to this law of attraction than merely intending and visualizing.

Another reason why the law of attraction doesn't work for a lot of people is because they are too short term minded. Visualizing what you want does work in terms of getting you to do things that will lead to your goals becoming a reality but this only works if you consistently do it. It's like the person who thinks he or she can get the perfect body by hitting the gym for a week and then stopping.

So how do you really make the law of attraction to work for you? Well, this is only from my own experience but this whole attraction thing won't work unless you work. This means unless you take massive action, nothing is going to change for you. Sitting there and thinking about what you want and seeing it being "attracted" into your life is just an excuse for being lazy. Unless you follow up your visualizations with action, you're only fooling yourself. The law of attraction only works if you start to take action. By taking action, you will start a chain reaction that can lead to the things you want entering into your life.

If you ask and visualize for a fit body and afterward go to the gym and start to exercise, you will start becoming more fit. The act of visualization will help keep you focused and motivated to do what it takes to get what you want. So if all you've been doing is thinking and imagining the things you want, it's no wonder why your life hasn't change. You need to go out there and get what you want, not just sit around thinking about it.
