Why I Chose a Modern Corner Group Sofa
Recently, I took a hard look at my living room and decided that it was time to replace the old furniture. The fabric had stapled back a few times, the cat had caused the back cushion to sink completely down, and the couches did not really fit into the room that I had been putting together. So I went looking for new sofas that matched the décor of the room. I needed to have something that was comfortable for guests, as we like to have people over. Budget is always an issue, so I had to watch my wallet as well.
Modern corner group sofas seemed to be the best solution.
Over the last few years, I have bought artwork and furnishing to match the style that I like. Hard lines, geometric shapes, and bold solid colors are the theme. I like clean lines and I've always leaned toward modern designs. I wanted furniture that stuck out as the focal point of the room. I didn't want the same old plain tan couch that was in my mother's house growing up. Money should be the first consideration, but as an avid spender, style floated to the top of the list. I found a number of corner sofas that fit this design. The best place I found to shop was online. The corner couch worked well for me because my living room is not very big. We like to have guests over for game night, movie night, and of course the big sporting events. Someone always got stuck on the uncomfortable metal folding chairs that were stashed in the coat closet. Or, we would have to bring in the dining room chairs. Maybe I'm lazy, but that always seems like such a hassle. We were able to get rid of the old couch and love seat combination and go with a larger corner sofa. This gave us the same amount of seats, but it took up less room. The room just felt bigger. We were able to find a cheap chair and ottoman, and a bench to help with the seating. We would not have been able to fit this extra furniture before.
Another reason that I decided on the corner sofa was that it was going to save us money in the long run. Initially, I was going to replace two couches, a coffee table, and two end tables. With the corner group sofa, I bought one couch and a larger coffee table. Everyone had a place to put their drinks within reach, and we had enough room on the coffee table to put the snacks or board game.
Corner sofas might not be for everyone, but they worked great in our apartment. The modern style fits well with the room. We now have extra seating for the people we invite over. Replacing all the furniture in the living room was not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be once we figured out the best and most economical way to do it. So, if you are in the same situation, maybe modern corner group sofas should be on your shopping list.
