Why I Love the Magic Bullet Blender

By Edited Oct 11, 2015 1 6

Make Your Own Fruit & Veggie Smoothies at Home

There are many items in my kitchen that I can use interchangeably with something else. For example, it doesn't really matter to me which of my two coffee makers I am using at the time, or which pot, pan, or spatula. In addition, if one of my small appliances broke, such as my toaster, I would probably replace it with a newer, fancier model. However, I have owned a Magic Bullet blender for over six years, and it is the one item that I like just the way it is. When I eventually wear it out, I plan to replace it with another Magic Bullet blender exactly like the one I have.

I use this handy little blender frequently. During the summer, in particular, my husband and I use it almost daily to make all types of fruit smoothies, depending on what berries are in season at the time.  If our favorite berries are not in season, we happily use frozen ones.

If you are interested in checking out the availability of the Bullet on Amazon, or comparing it to similar blenders, use this direct link to the Magic Bullet and other personal blenders on Amazon.

I also use it to make cold coffee beverages, iced chai tea, whipped cream, and for many other purposes. Listed below are some of the reasons I prefer using it over my larger blender, all of which mainly boil down to the fact that I like it because of its convenience and the versatile ways it can be put to use.

The Magic Bullet Blender is Just the Right Size

The cups that come with the Bullet range in size to hold about one to two cups of liquid … just the right size for a nice milkshake or fruit smoothie. These cups are also the ideal size if you are making a small amount of guacamole, salsa, or sauce. No longer do you need to use the two quart pitcher that comes with your full size blender, or pull out your food processor, when you only need a cup or two of something. You can use the Magic Bullet to chop onions, mince garlic and make egg salad, as well as create party dips and chocolate mousse.

Some of the young mothers I know also use it to puree fruits, vegetables and meats in order to make fresh, home prepared baby food for their toddlers.

The Bullet is Quick

This little blender has such a powerful engine, and is so well designed, that everything I have blended in it has been finished in about 30 seconds. This is nice because I can make myself a blueberry smoothie, and my husband a strawberry smoothie, and be finished with both of them in just a few minutes. This will make parents and children happy, as well, since it is so easy to prepare different flavored treats for each of your kids.

This Small Blender is Convenient

The Bullet comes with a set of mugs that you use as the blending compartment. If you are making a beverage, you simply load the ingredients into one of the cups, twist on either the cross blade or flat blade attachment, place the bullet shaped cups on the power base, press down, and hold it until the ingredients are mixed (about 10 - 30 seconds). Then, you remove the cup from the base, unscrew the attachment with the cutting tool, and enjoy the mixture you have just created. If you have used one of the party mugs as your mixing cup, you will then screw a brightly colored lip onto the cup, and you can drink your beverage from the same party mug that you used to mix your drink. You don't even need to use a separate glass!

The Bullet is Easy to Clean

After using this little blender, just place all of the pieces, except for the power base, on the top shelf of the dishwasher to clean. You can also hand wash the pieces with warm soapy water, and rinse. It's as easy as that! In addition, the cups and mugs that come with the Magic Bullet are both microwave safe and dishwasher safe.

The Magic Bullet Blender is Cheap

Compared with the price of most blenders and food processors, the Magic Bullet is a real bargain. The current price, in 2013, is about $50 - $65  on Amazon, plus shipping and handling. Each blender comes with many extras in addition to the base, such two blades, tall and short cups, re-sealable lids, party mugs with colorful lip rings, and a helpful cookbook. It is also available with other special accessories.

Use Your Magic Bullet to Whip Cream

One of my favorite ways to use the Magic Bullet is to quickly and easily turn a little cream into fresh whipped cream. There are two blades that come with the Bullet. The flat blade is designed for whipping cream as well as for grinding hard foods like coffee beans and spices. Just pour a little cream into the short cup, attach the flat blade, place the container into the base, press down, and a few seconds later you have whipped cream. You'll know when it's done, because the sound of the motor changes slightly to a hum. Don't leave it on the base too long, or you'll end up with butter! Remove the mixture from the base, add a teaspoon or so of sugar to taste, whip a few seconds more, and it comes out perfectly! You have whipped cream that is fresh and ready to use, and you didn't have to make too much!

Use Your Magic Bullet to Make Smoothies

Smoothies are so easy to make, that you can be very creative. I like to put some fresh or frozen berries, a teaspoon of sugar, and some milk in one of the party cups. I attach the cross blade, place the container on the base, press down, and in less than 30 seconds I have a wonderful smoothie. Sometimes I add protein powder; other times I skip it. My husband prefers to make his smoothies with apple juice and berries, rather than milk and berries. When I feel that I have not eaten enough green vegetables lately, I'll add a handful of fresh spinach.  Whatever combination you prefer, it is a quick and easy way to make a delicious snack or meal.

Use It to Make Frozen Margaritas and Other Cocktails

The recipe book that comes with the Bullet contains the instructions to make Margaritas, Daiquiris, Pina Coladas, Bellinis, and Martinis using this handy device. If you have other frozen beverages that you like, you should have no problem altering the recipes so that they can be made in the Bullet.

Ordering Extra Accessories

There are extra items that you may also want to have for your Bullet, depending on the size of your family or how often you entertain. For example, you can order an extra party mugs with multi-colored comfort rings or replacements for the base or blades.  All of these are available using the Amazon link.

As you can tell, I feel that the Magic Bullet blender is indispensable in the kitchen. I have used mine for a long time without problems, and I highly recommend it to others.

The Magic Bullet blender sounds like a winner to me! My big blender is usually too big for the job I want to do. Maybe a Magic Bullet blender will be under my tree. Thanks for sharing.

I have never seen it sold in a store, although I don't know why. I have also never watched an infomercial for the Magic Bullet. If I had not been given one as a gift, I would never have know about it. However, it has become my favorite kitchen gadget. Hopefully, the company will find more ways to market this handy device!

I'm getting out My Magic Bullet! I've had it in the closet and forgot about it. Me and My Husband love to make smoothies and by the time he gets done in the big blender there is enough for the whole county! Thanks so much for writing about this and now I can have smoothies everyday!
