To be certain, there are many trends that come and go in the world of computing and electronics in general. In the computing world, netbook computers are currently all the rage, and computer manufacturers are doing their best to convince you why you should purchase one. While netbooks are great in their own way, this article is about pink laptops and some of the reasoning behind their surging popularity. A simple search on Google or on Amazon reveals hundreds of results for pink laptop accessories and computers, which seems to indicate strong demand. So, what makes these pink computers so great you ask?

Pink laptops are in a class of their own amongst a sea of black and other less than exciting color options. The color pink is synonymous with fashion, so it makes sense that people desire to carry pink computers as accessories. After all, pink is bright, fun and a great way to get noticed. More so than ever before, people are taking their computers with them to a variety of public locations and they want something that exemplifies their individual personalities. Nothing quite says “look at me” like a pink laptop does. Because these computers relate so closely to the fashion world, manufacturers have produced a range of pink accessories to compliment these computers including bags, sleeves, backpacks and even mice.

Not only have computer companies recognized the need to create fashionable computers, they also understand the importance of associating their products with a specific cause. In the case of pink laptops, manufacturers have marketed their products during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with many pledging to donate a certain percentage of every computer sale to fund cancer research initiatives. Consumers desire to associate themselves with a cause, and cancer awareness is undoubtedly a cause that is near and dear to many people’s hearts. Some of the companies that market their computers during this time period include Dell, Sony and Toshiba. Dell has created a color option called “promise pink” that they have associated with their cancer awareness initiative. Regardless of the number of sales generated by the program, Dell has committed to donating at least $250,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

If you’re in the market for a new laptop computer that is both fashionable and that has the potential to support a worthwhile cause, consider purchasing a pink laptop. There are many different shades of pink to choose from along with a range of pricing options to suit just about any budget.
