Why Switch To LED GU10 Bulbs?
Going "green" does not mean that you have to change your entire lifestyle. It often means you just simply substitute newer more environmentally friendly technology for the older standards. This applies especially to creating an eco friendly home, which you can do by updating to improved appliances and lighting.
Commercial and residential applications use halogen or incandescent light bulbs throughout the home and office. These lights, however, are expensive in terms of the amount of power they consume. They also don't last terribly long. Now, LED (light emitting diode) technology has advanced to the point that LED-based lighting fixtures are becoming a real possibility.
GU10 LED light bulbs are the latest designed bulbs to replace relatively inefficient GU10 halogen light bulbs (GU10 refers to the bulb's mounting socket type). GU10 LED bulbs are energy savers, as much as 90% over the regular halogen light bulbs. They also last about 20 times longer than halogen light bulbs (meaning a homeowner may need only one LED bulb for very 20-50 incandescent ones). Additionally, they also run a lot cooler because they do not have any filaments.
The new GU10 LED bulbs are made of resistant impact plastic, thus they do not break, if dropped, like a standard glass bulb. Were they to be split open for whatever reason, LED bulbs do not have harmful mercury like their fluorescent counterparts.
GU10 LED light bulbs are manufactured in different wattages and various hues ranging from warm to cool. They are perfect anywhere that a traditional GU10 bulb would fit. They are particularly good for lighting kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, basements and so on. They are also great for locations where directional lighting is desired--from accenting a painting to serving as under cabinet lighting. These bulbs emit a clear, sharp white light that lends itself to almost any application throughout the home or office.
It is true that LED bulbs are more expensive for now. That will become less true as time goes by. But you should also consider the cost of the bulbs versus the amount of money you will save from vastly lower energy use and very infrequent replacement. The amount of energy savings alone more than pays for the bulb over its very long life.
First there were incandescent bulbs, then we were encouraged to switch to fluorescent bulbs, and now LED lighting is the new revolutionary way in energy efficient lighting. The energy and lighting industry is continually growing and experimenting with energy saving ideas. The GU10 LED bulbs is a chic and eco friendly house upgrade you can make to your home with no hassles, saving you money and energy in the process.
