Don't Pause Play

You Are a Seasoned Woman

Do not be fooled. Yes I said fooled. The menopausal years in a woman's life are the most dynamic. When else are women more ready, more experienced and less afraid to speak openly about life?  When we are in our 20' s we have not even experienced life yet. We are just learning. In our 30's we are either working hard and having children or both. It is when we reach 40's , 50's and beyond that we understand more about life than ever before.

According to various statistics there is an average of over 35 million women approaching or in menopause right now.  Over time I have seen menopause affect lives in a major ways, especially emotionally. There are a few simple yet effective things that we can do during this time to really draw on our ability. Those things are praying (simply communicating with God), playing, learning, teaching, enjoying life and healing.  Our spiritual, physical, mental, social and emotional state are affected by our activity, what we do at this time.  You must decide not to let anything pull you down during this time, that you will play out God's plan for your life. Even though your cycle is pausing (actually stopping) don't you pause too. Many women do.

I don't know why they call it menopause. I say this for mental and emotional reasons. Sometimes our diagnosis draw us into speaking the wrong things.  The word pause cannot taken too seriously other than the menstrual part, however, I see the pause in women. Paused defined:

                                                              a temporary stop in action

Many of us are really slowing down during one of the most important times in our lives.  Some of us are not able to recover.  We even speak our symptoms into life.  As long as we are alive then there is no time to stop and be taken in by life.  To the contrary, we must stay active and keep positively flowing in life, playing out God's plan.   Jeremiah 29:11-13 tells us:

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

The Praying Woman

The most important thing to do during this time, like all times, is stay connected to God. Listen closely. I do not mean stay close to God in a formal systematic way. Life is really not as systematic as it looks or as people can make it. Get close to God  in a real way.  Bring you to the table with all the stuff that comes with you and talk to God about it. Let Him help you sort it out. He has the plan for your life. Don't you think He should have some active part in how you live, especially now (during menopause)? If you have not already sought Him out, it's never too late while you are alive. During this time make sure you know what God's plan is and if you don't tarry for it, that is, fight for it. Fight for that plan. Make sure you get His answers He is a promise keeper. He Promises you a life with expectations. You can expect something good out of life. He also promises to be right there.

The Learning Woman

During this time decide what else you want to learn to do in life. Just because you are in menopause does not mean you have to pause.  Get in a learning mode. Consider enhancing your gifts, starting a new project or just decide to have a new attitude about where you are and where your going that will give you the mental leverage that you need. Decide that you are going to get all you can out of life and life is not going to take as much out of you, that you will be standing strong well after menopause. Once you decide to do what you want to do then make sure that you get your iron and your calcium and all the other nutrients that you need to keep you in a healthy physical state. Remember you are multi-faceted, there are many sides to you and you have to nurture all of them. You must consider your spiritual, mental, physical, social and emotional sides.

The Teaching Woman

Now that you have experienced a great part of life, you must be the expert in something whether it be in a big picture mode or something simple. Whatever the case you are an expert. Find a way to teach what you know. You can write or you can speak or just impact people along the way. Whatever you do well get in the forefront and teach some others who can benefit from your abilities, talents and gifts. Let the world see life from your perspective, through your lens.

The Joyful Woman

Ok this is real simple and short. You cannot go through life feeling down or sad. You must decide to have joy in your life. Yes, having  joy is a decision that you have to make. You may not know it, but whatever state you are in it is a decision that you made. So, decide to have joy, and spread that joy. Try it on for a day. Look at everything that you do from a joyous standpoint. Count it all joy and see how that impacts your day.

The Playing Woman

The main reason for this article is that you keep playing in life and don't pause mentally, physically, socially and emotionally just because you will not have a menstrual cycle every month and your body will be going or is going through some changes.  The idea is to stay ahead of life so you stay in the driver's seat. You must continue to play in life, do the things that make you happy and that make you alive. It could be real fun activities or it could be to relax sometimes and watch the garden that you are growing in your backyard, how beautiful it is. Either way, make sure that you play and don't pause your life.  There is always time as long as the stop button has not been pushed and since you are still here then we know that has not happened. As a matter of a fact your goal is to detain the stop, forget about the pause and play a wonderful life.

The Healing Woman

I am going to say this once. "Heal in every way possible."
