Why You Should Be Playing Borderlands 2 Right Now

By Edited Nov 11, 2015 3 4

Seriously Why Aren't You Playing It Right Now

Classes of Borderlands 2
Most people have heard of Borderlands 2 by now and I know that this article is a little late. I just recently discovered Borderlands 2 about a month ago and have already beat it on 2 different systems. This game follows one of four classes of characters: The Gunzerker (Salvador), The Commando (Anton), The Siren (Maya), and The Assassin (Zero). The game is incredibly addicting and has many awesome features.

The Glorious Weapons

Borderlands 2 gameplay

Most FPS games have great guns and grenades but Borderlands 2 takes it to a whole new level. Think about this it has five different classes of guns: Pistol, Smg, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, and Rocket launcher. Now each class has 5 different levels of rareness and within those there are different guns some guns can be in 2 different rareness levels. Now imagine all those guns times  50. You can level up to 50 in the game and most guns require a certain level to use so it can be the same gun but a higher level and therefore do more damage among other things. There are also grenade mods that change what each grenade does like homing grenades and elemental grenades or both. There are a few weapons that can only be on a few levels unless you mod the game and these weapons are called Legendary Weapons. These weapons are the best of the best like the conference call shotgun the will shoot normal bullets and then have more come in from the side adding to the damage and a shotgun pistol that does insane amounts of damage per shot. But thats not the only reason to play this game.

The Awesome Storyline

The Borderlands characters

The story follows the four vault hunters mentioned above trying to stop the evil CEO of Hyperion Handsome Jack from unlocking the vault on the planet Pandora. By unlocking the vault he would be able to control the incredably powerful alien warrior that lives inside but he needs someone or something to charge the Vault Key that summons the warrior. The story starts out on a train where you and your fellow vault hunters get to show off your skills in the beginning seqence that has the awesome theme song for the game. The train explodes and the character you choose is the only one to survive. You meet the most annoying robot ever Claptrap. You follow him and help him until you get past the first boss then you have to go the the only remaining rebel city Sanctuary. After you get a battery type thing for Sanctuary's shield. You go to Sanctuary and get a mission to save the leader of the rebal group called the Crimson Raiders. You go through mission after mission that introduces the various main characters in the game after you save the leader of the rebels, Roland. Then you have to go to the Bunker. There you fight a giant flying robot to get to the room where Angel is held. Angel is the "AI" through the whole game who was working for Handsome Jack. When you get there you find out she is his daughter who has been charging the Vault Key and you have to fight of defensive forces and wait for Roland to get some sheilds down so you can shoot stuff. Angel wants you to do this so she dies ending a life of misery caused by her dad. When you do Handsome Jack kills Roland and captures another main character to charge the Vault Key. After that you go on a mission to kill Handsome Jack and you meet in the vault. He finishes charging the key and you fight The Warrior and then kill him. The game also has tons of sub-missions to do for the various characters in the game.

The Hacks

An example of a hacked weapon

The hacks in this game are awesome and easy. I currently only hack my computer and have a level 150 Gunzerker with awesome modded guns. The software for doing this is very easy to find and configure on computer and I assume a little harder on Xbox and other systems but many people do it. Most games have systems to keep modding from happening but for Borderlands 2 you can get away with it unless you try to play online but even then you probably won't get banned so mod and hack away and enjoy this game. If you want to check out someone elses point of view read this article.
