Understanding Acne

Skin goes through a process of shedding dead cells and producing oil throughout your lifetime. Acne starts when your hormonal balance changes and excess oil combined with dead skin clogs up the pore. When that happens, bacteria behind the pore will grow and multiply. This growth and multiplication triggers inflammation and swelling which results in an acne blemish. Acne is caused by genetics and aggravated hormones from stress.

Acne is the most common skin disease and millions of people have it. More than 85% of Americans have acne breakouts at some point in their lives. 90% of teenagers are sufferers but it’s not limited to that age group at all. Approximately 50% of adult women and 25% of adult men experience acne break outs at some point in their lives too.

Acne is a chronic condition but it can be controlled. The word chronic used in this case means that it can last for years. Although there is no cure, the Proactiv Solution System will control and prevent your acne through daily use.

Things to Know:

  • Acne is not caused by dirt.
  • Acne is not caused by what you eat.
  • Acne happens to people of all ages, not just teenagers.
  • Acne is very serious and can damage the sufferer emotionally, socially, and physically.
  • Sun exposure does not help clear acne, it makes it worst.
  • Acne is not curable but it’s preventable and can be controlled.
  • There are 6 types of acne which are: Whiteheads, Blackheads, Papules, Pustules, Cystic Acne or Nodules, and Acne Conglobata.

What is Proactiv Solution

and How Does it Work?

Proactiv Solution is a 3 step system which includes a Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and a Repairing Treatment. All three products work together to achieve clear skin. The system has micro-crystal medicine that provides fast pore penetration and fights acne instantly. Here are the three steps in detail below.

Step 1: Renewing Cleanser

The Renewing Cleanser is an oil-free and soap-free product. It is a medicated exfoliating cleanser that destroys acne-causing bacteria. The tiny exfoliating beads in this cleanser gently remove impurities, excess oil, and dead skin cells. This process helps prevent clogged up pores and the benzoyl peroxide goes deep into the skin in order to attack acne-causing bacteria. This formula goes straight to the source.

Step 2: Revitalizing Toner

The Revitalizing Toner is refreshing and alcohol-free. This product refines and purifies your pores after completing the first step. The formula helps to balance your skin tone, remove dead cells, and prepare the pore for step 3. The Revitalizing Toner contains glycolic acid which exfoliates dead skin cells to help keep pores unplugged.

                                                                   Step 3: Repairing Treatment

The Repairing Treatment is the final step in this system. The lightly medicated lotion kills acne-causing bacteria and has ultra-fine micro-crystal benzoyl peroxide. The benzoyl peroxide deeply penetrates into the pore to attack bacteria, heal existing blemishes, and prevent new ones from developing.

It’s important to know that Proactiv does not spot treat blemishes after they break out because it’ll be too late. The purpose of Proactiv is to prevent breakouts before they even get started. This solution was developed by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. These two dermatologists came together and created a great system that works for many people, and can work for you.

I can tell you first hand that Proactiv works! My older daughter had bad skin, and Proactiv cured it! One warning...use white towels. Proactiv can bleach out colored towels. Learned this the hard way!
