Many people have heard of the Wii MotionPlus but they do not know much about it. It is a new accessory to the Nintendo Wii system. It has enhanced software to make the player’s motions more realistic in the game. This review for the Wii Motion Plus will try to answer some of the most common questions the average consumer would want to know about the new Wii Motion Plus.

“What is the Wii Motion Plus?” is obviously the first question. The Wii Motion Plus is an accessory that is purchased separately to increase the player’s game experience. It plugs into the base of the Wii remote. It looks like it comes with the remote it has been so well designed.

“How much is it?” one might wonder. The Wii Motion Plus sells for as little as $15 from Amazon.com. Retail locations that sell the Nintendo Wii system and games will carry it and it may be included in some game packages.

“How does the Wii Motion Plus work?” the more tech savvy ask. Two gyro sensors mimic players’ body movements more accurately than the remote alone does. The accessory has a flexible attachment to make it even more sensitive to movement.

“What are some of the problems?” is a good question. The flexibility of the Wii Motion Plus makes some people think that there is something wrong. This is the way it is supposed to be to give better motion detection. The Wii Motion Plus does give the same results in every game. True, some games respond better than some others do. Sword fights are more realistic as well as golf games. Nearby radio waves can cause interference. It may be necessary to turn off cell phones and radios.

If the Wii remote seems to be having problems working well there are a few things to try before assuming the thing is broken. Turn off nearby appliances that emit radio waves. Check the batteries. Batteries will last about 25 hours with the Motion Plus as opposed to 35 hours without it. Reset the remote by placing it keypad down for ten seconds. There is also an 800 number provided by Nintendo to call for further help will common problems.

“Does the Wii Motion Plus work on every game?” fans ask. Wii Motion Plus games are marked with a logo and enhanced to work specifically with the attachment. Only these games will respond to the enhanced sensitivity software. Built in pass through technology will allow earlier games to be played without having to remove the Wii Motion Plus attachment. The earlier games will not respond to the increased motion sensitivity software though. Nunchucks have pass through technology also and they can be used with no problems.

“Is it worth it?” is the real question. The answer is a big yes! The Wii Motion Plus does what it says it will. It is so good that it should be included in the game system package and every game should include this new technology. Players can really get into their games now.
